D3EE is a set of quality of life improvements to the original Doom 3 game and it's expansions Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission, aiming to enhance the experience of the game without deviating from the source material. Looking to play through vanilla Doom 3 and other mods and custom levels but don't want to mess with the core of the game? Not a fan of BFG Edition? this might just be your lucky day. Try Enhanced Edition instead.

In-menu wide, ultra-wide and super-widescreen options? more challenge on higher difficulty settings? fixes to lots of oversights? It's all here. Plenty of updates that aim to make the game even more enjoyable and immersive without any gameplay changes. You can find details about what's updated here

D3EE is also made to be compatible with many user made maps, mods and even source-ports, both old and new, you can find more of them here

Other recommended mods that work with D3EE:

(These are just some of my personal recommendations, you can play it with practically any other mod you want)

v3.4 of Doom 3 Enhanced Edition is out, should fix some of the most prominent issues that were left unpatched in the previous version, most notably:

  • Added installers to make it easier for people to install and uninstall the patch files individually.
  • Replaced Custom Map function in the new game menu with a working tip.
  • Fixed AAS files not working correctly for the final boss map.

Just tried installing this in both the Doom 3 folder and Doom 3 BFG Edition folder in my Steam apps, and it does nothing. Guess it's just out of date now? Just wanted to try to fix resolution issues on my PC, but it didn't work :( Found a work around by running D3 under a virtual machine in an older version of Windows :)

Edit: Just read that it doesn't work with the BFG edition.

Hiya, Does D3EE work with the flashlight mods DuctTape and YAFM? I cant get either of them to work after installing those mods and putting the D3EE files in their folder. After playing through Doom3 when it was first released I did kind of wish for a bit more light although I know it goes against the design of the game.
Everything with D3EE seems to work fine such as widescreen , and it looks great. I've patched it to 1.3.1 running on Win10.

Hi, DuctTape and YAFM both seem to work fine if you just add zzzzz_ prefix to their filenames (eg: zzzzz_pak002 or zzzzz_yafm-hl) as explained in download description, like with any other mod.

The problem was that I hadn't assigned a key to Headlight in YAFM before applying D3EE. Great mod BTW, does exactly what I want it to

After testing no, it works but it breaks many functions.

Yeah, it works partially, mods that change the source code are not gauranteed to be 100% compatible (like with many other mods) likewise, have to provide an addon to support its new functions and GUIs.

Yeah oh well I just liked Cst' headlamp which didnt break muzzle flashlights and the locker code display.
