Did i miss something about that era warfare?

A great mod for those who want to immersing into the world of 16-17 century warfare of Pike and Shot. Elegent as Horse and Musket era, yet brutal and nasty as Medieval.

So.... this mod is done ? No more update ??? Oh well, so sad but thank you and your team for it. I have many great time with it.

Some one tell me how the hell can i finish the first quest of Rebel faction ?
What the hell is a Barrel of Mead ???

Hello Gab, is HailMyself here. After more then 4 years playing your mods (since good Old Frontier ^^), i must say this... again even i has say it before (few years ago on TalesWorld forum). It was one of the best mod i ever have pleasure to played in my life.

A quick question (hope nobody had ask which it unlikely), why i don't need to pay my soldiers any cent for their loyal service??? I know as a gamer i should happy about it, but some how i just don't feel right.

BANZAI - GLORY CHARGE FOR THE EMPIRE!!!

For some personal research, i come across some information about Imperial Japan Army. While study about them, i see that the Banzai charge before meet US fire power was very success against most of their enemy.

Thousand of men charge into enemy head on with katana and bayonet, with honor in their heart, ready to die for their empire. Human wave tactic is sound like a very foolish choice in gunpowder era. But after spent almost my time with infantry, i think it was more useful then you think. You even can take victory with minimum casualty if you use it careful. Here is how to make a Banzai charge in this mod.

Step 1: Units

You need soldiers, alot of them. Vaegir tier 1 & 2 is the best choice. They cheap, easy to replace due to their vast homeland and very good at melee, a very important element for the final phase of a Banzai charge. They suck at shooting and has a very short range but that not important. They are the foundation of every success Banzai charge. For they are the one who take the bullet, make way for other units to victory.

But that not mean you will just blindly send them to their death. No, you need some one to cover them cause courage and bravery don't make you a victor. This is when a squad of Jaegers come in. From 5 to 10 members, this squad is another important part of your Banzai charge. They are good at shooting and has a high range. They are very expensive and hard to get (unless you cheat) so use them wisely.

Other optional units is officers and Grenadiers. Overall, officers some how has the highest melee point in the whole game. I proudly say that i used to command a squad that i called Flag Unit with more then 20 Flag bearer (to have them is a serious pain without cheat). They are the one who bring back to me many victory in some darkest moments, that is... until i send them on the bloody ladder.

Grenadiers on the other hand, is another good melee unit. But they own one special weapon that make you must take command by your own hand. Grenade. Yes, that little balls has a devastation power that can kill both friends and foes. So must you them wisely, also because you only have one shot and did i mention that Grenadiers is not cheap ?

Step 2: Deployment

Vaegir tier 1&2 will always stand in the front in 3 lines (depend on your enemy size you will change that number). Jaegers will not take part of the charge. But rather then while moving your troops near enemy, you must moving them to the rear of the enemy without firing your toy. Like i say, you could bring in the Officers and Grenadiers too, but keep them behind the meat shield.

Step 3: BANZAI!!!

After moving your main force into position near enemy without get shoot. It's time to begin the battle. First will be the firing of Jaegers, they will eliminate a few enemy to low down the casualty of your charge, but don't hope that they will do more then that.

Then order you main force to moving into enemy line in formation. Do not order them to charge or it will turn into a mess (except officers, just let them charge but only after your main force has reach enemy), then hope for the best.

Is this Vietnamese soldiers or Chinese soldiers i can't tell. That guy has Vietnam regular hat but we not have that kind of uniform back then, it look like Chinese Special Force.

When come to things that even worst then the Trench Warfare of The Great War is the bloody ladder and castle.

Happy for the new update. But sad cause things not really change much T_T.

Thank, now this answer is more helpful. But i really have a hard time to imagine about warfare in Victoria era without think about the Great War.

So hype for the next update with new factions. A small information i like to share with anyone interesting in WW1 Vietnamese role in France army.

- In 1915, 4.600 Annamese (how French call Vietnamese back then) arrived at the Port of Marseille. Those are "volunteers" to fight for Mother France (as we call them back then) glory against the "Big Bad" German.

- They fought in Verdun, Ypres (no, not the first one), Salonik, Marne

- In the end of the war. We lost more then 1.200 live, many missing and never been found.

Why this mod exist ??? Since we has Imperial Age who share many similar stuff and it's really good mod. How this one can stand out ??? So... why this mod exist again ???

You should check out what kind of troops you use. Because there are different between them. Some can shoot from a far distance. But some have very short range.

That sound fun and nice. But i doubt they can do that because of their limit.
