To add to the optimistic side of your argument... the largest US garrisoned tank bases are in the deserts of the souther US. Fort Bliss, Fort Hood, and Fort Irwin. There is no more Fort Knox(at least for armor), and the few exception now are Fort Carson and Fort Benning, who are mostly infantry, with the odd abrams tank battalion mixed in.

In which case the .50's would be removed, the remaining ammo would be blown at a separate location, and remaining sensitive equipment within the tank removed or hit with thermite. Ah, a mod to stress the enduring politics of the fighting in Jerusalem. Politics to stress into a mod that features 2 side that claim right to a piece of ground... Sad, this kind of adversity over politics and religion is half of whats ruining games these days. I remember a time when people didnt need to use the hate and rage of politics and focused on massive corporations taking over the world, ah those we the days. scratch that the Trench was over a capture point which for some reason lets no troops enter the trench

so far with the current update, troops wont get into trenches. which is not good if this is supposed to be a ww1 mod... usually the AI of the troops will get so confused by the treches they run strait into the open and die. Also following this crash.

No they are not, those are armored fender flares designed to protect the tires from been shot, or shreaded by shrapnel. Take a close look and you can see the tires under the flare, its a horrible design as it would struggle anywhere but a road, but all in the name of protection.
