The Great War Mod, Version 5.0, has finally been released after three years in development.
Though this is only the beginning. With our new launcher system, we are able to deliver you updates via the launcher, so we can fix issues, and everyone can update as easily as possible. Over the next few days the team will be working tirelessly to make sure that any and all bugs are immediately stomped out so that everyone can have the best experience possible.
In the future, we will look to add more much content in faction specific updates as well as keep pushing the boundaries of modding into the likes of Naval combat and more ground breaking features, which everyone wants to see.
This is the first "serious" release of ours, so hopefully you enjoy it. So without further ado...
We thank those of you who have supported us over the past three years immensely, and hope that any people who were previously unaware have a great time.
This mod is not perfect, and has flaws, but we hope to amend them very quickly after this release with the support and feedback from our fans.

I brought the game just to play this epic mod.
(I'm sure that the game itself is good, but do note I'm new to RTS)
Total war series are two games in one, none are RTS :P

Hello, I just found this mod, and I wanted to say your work is stunning. This might just make me re-install Napoleon. ;)
It looks great, played it and I'm kinda at a loss. Most all the techs have already been researched, 90% of the buildings to build actually decrease town wealth, and are very expensive to boot. 5-8k on average when I'm barely scrounging up 3k a turn. Trade doesn't seem to be working. I can barely support the handful of units I have now, I can't see going on the offensive as GB.
Those flaws aside though its very fun!

Yeah if I could just play this mod without crashing that'd be great.
Looks amazing, any chance this has WW1 naval battles yet? Or is it planed for the future at all?

This mod looks amazing and I have been waiting for it for years with much anticipation, yet I don't seem to be able to get more than 20-30 or so turns into it without crashing. Reloading the autosave or other previous saves seems to do no good. Most crashes seem to center around the AI moves after the end of turn phase. I am up to date with the latest patch but still it's so buggy I can't play it. Are more patches in the works? It would be such a shame for so much work by these modders to be unplayable after such a long time. If it helps im running Win7 64bit
