I'm sort of a modder, but I mostly just spend my time playing video games. I have experience with Unreal Engine 1 (mapping wise) (and texture wise).
I would love to help in any way, whether it's models, textures, sound design, etc.
On that note, join the OTP Discord if you need any extra modding help and such. Discord.gg
Yup. You need to overwrite Vanilla Deus Ex's contents with GMDX's for it to work. There may be issues though (the only one I've heard of so far is the machine gun being semi-auto), as GMDX was not designed to work with other mods.
This. Different render devices can give different results, so the default GMDX v9 render device (being D3D 9) can cause issues for some.
There are two ways to activate cheats in Deus Ex.
1. Press T at any time in the game (except cutscenes), backspace Say, and then type
Set JCDentonMale bCheatsEnabledTrue
2. Edit the shortcut you use for GMDX, and put -hax0r (with the 0) before the INI= text. It should look like this. I.imgur.com
The second way gives you cheats permanently, unless you remove -hax0r from the shortcut.
Does the error happen in vanilla? Also, what render device? (Direct3D, OpenGL, Glide, etc.)
Here's a couple examples of the work done so far.
Yep, we'll begin doing translations of the signs soon.
Literally just one video. I'd suggest actually checking out the mod.
For 2. Drop your weapon and pick it back up. This is a common problem in GMDX 7 and 8
Technically, it should've always been a one hit since Gordon's player model doesn't have a helmet to begin with (insert "Freeman's Mind" joke here), but I will keep that in mind.
This looks awesome! Can't wait till' Friday rolls around!
I'll get to that soon. Shouldn't be too hard.
Eh, it could've been better.
This looks like a really interesting idea. I'm considering helping with 3D models.
Yeah, I did that too. Animations are messed up, ropes are missing, ect.
Found a bug:
When a scientist healed me (with the Luther texture), his head models changed at the beginning and the end of the animation. I assume this has to do with how the game is handling bodygroups (and it probably messed up).
Also, in the armory, the security guard that gives me a weapon calls me Mr. Freeman.
You should probably take a look at this:
Thank you very much!
Edit: I got an error.
"could not find alpha.wad".
You mean the download? That's just a picture of the H.E.V suit.
I just came across this mod. I love it. I'm currently making a similar, randomtastic mod. I would like to thank you for this.
Also if anyone's having trouble with it, just copy the cl_dll folder from the valve folder (in the HL directory), and replace the Rot-Life ones.
Hello. I am Robert Freeman, and I'm very interested in your Citadel project. I've always liked System Shock and Deus Ex, and was wondering if I could help with sound design (Mainly UI sounds, weapon sounds, ect.). I didn't post this on the main page due to it most likely going unnoticed. Thank you.
Hey, quick question. Is there any chance of the source uc files being released?
I looked at alot of the maps through the legend command, and I didn't notice anything different. ALSO that was my butthurt self ****** because of a steam release.
This is just sad. Not only is this Steam exclusive (No CD/GOG version), it's soundtrack is not even that good (Except for Battery Park), and is basically just a pack of remade maps that are either confusing, or filled with unnecessary obstacles. I find no advantages over the original game. 4/10.
I think you should release the uncompiled files. It would benefit alot of us.
