Possible somethings missing in your med2/kingdoms.
Do this on steam:
Right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files. Wait till it's fully checked.
Reinstall THERA: REDUX (Full Release 2), install the hotfix, and run the 4gb patch on both exes.
Intend to have it up for download by end of the month (sept).
Lots of new models replacing old ones, a bunch of new ones replacing none and and a ton of campaign tweaks/improvements.
Make sure you 4gb ram enable.
Look it up
Nope, will require fresh start.
It'll be worth it.
whole lot of improvements included too.
Hello katz you outstanding seal pup.
Next release is focusing on improving current factions rather than looking to create an entire faction from scratch, a major undertaking. However, in the latest, soon to be released version, one (Paynal) of the native american factions has been steered towards being a Reptilian dominant faction (with Reptilian faction members/generals) rather than just influenced by them. There will be also be a Reptilian Minor Faction called "The Untainted", lurking in several resource rich regions and waiting for war.
Beyond that, I have considered it. Possible in the future. Limitations of the engine have to be taken into account, limited space for units, already at capacity in the EDU.
Open to ideas, if it works and feels right.
Last version was a big overhaul of gameplay, next will be a big model upgrade for those units that need it.
Pale knights faction, crusader troops and knightly bodyguard troops especially are getting a big overhaul as well as a bunch of new "Arabic" troops and some others.
Will be replacing a LOT of the remaining old battle models that need it whilst also fixing various things, bugs and tweaks that have been brought to my attention.
Additional scripting, new "minor faction" groupings, new portraits for generals and other quality of life stuff also included.
Give it a few weeks.
Was going to but now will do a full install upload instead.
It will include fixing other issues people have sent me, some new models, scripting additions and other improvements. Not rushing it but it shouldn't take too long.
You can't dl the mod?
Right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files.
Reinstall THERA: REDUX (Full Release 2) and run the 4gb patch on both exes.
Then install the hotfix.
Glad you're enjoying it, will be another patch (or maybe full install for convenience) in a while to address some issues and add some more content.
No pilum for the heavy legionaries. That is the role of the "light" legionaries.
They were removed to ensure the heavies (as the core inf of the faction) actually move to engage the enemy inf asap, the AI fails to use them properly otherwise.
Many such cases.
The troops on the walkway makes this extra great.
Holy moly you're right.
Don't know how this creeped in.
Will add to the list for fixing.
I will be releasing a small patch soon, a few bugfixes including the hotfix and a few new unit models as well as a bonus.
Thanks for the feedback.
I've checked and can't see any, can you give me unit names.
It was made for normal unit sizes, its written in the readme and on the dl page here.
"I HIGHLY recommend "Normal/Normal" difficulty settings for campaign and battle settings
- v.high campaign difficulty just makes the AI senseless and completley ruins diplomacy
- v.high battle difficulty just makes ALL AI units unbreakable, pointless
Normal or Hard battle and Normal campaign is the proper way to play this mod.
I also recommend NORMAL SIZE for units. Units were balanced with Normal size in mind AND the AI is much better at controlling them"
Also, units are not supposed to be all the same size, why would they be? Many factors are considered
Play on normal size and normal difficulty for optimal results.
You never know chief.
I have a few ideas.
Would require a lot more unit slots than the games hardcode has available, would mean replacing other factions units. Also would be an absolute ton of work to properly implement.
Thinking of adding a Roman "Marine" unit recruitable from docks though.
right click the THERA cfg, go to properties, untick "read only" and save, then open it and change:
windowed = 1
borderless_window = 1
windowed = 0
borderless_window = 0
save and exit
renable "read only" to insure the cfg holds the setting and doesn't revert.
You'll not be able to insta-switch to desktop and back with it disabled however.
I tested it out with multiple 100+ turns running auto campaigns without a single faction collapse.
There is still a small possibility of it happening, if all family members on the same turn are killed before the new one can spawn in. This however is very rare.
Plan is to keep scripts to a minimum. I did already add some new scripts into the latest release, one to fix the premature faction collapse bug, a 4 turns per year script, a capital garrison script and a boost to AI behaviour.
I likely won't be adding any more, partially to keep round time super fast like it is now and partly because this "sandbox" style is how old style Thera was.
Introducing "story" like scripts is great at first but gets very repetitive after a few plays unless you are adding vast amounts of scripts to randomise these events. This however then slows the round time hugely and I don't see it as worth it for the amount of time and work that I would need to be put in.
I may add something at a later date though as I have been looking into something interesting, but it won't be quests or faction specific.
Yep, it's a lot more accurate. Test it out at range on custom.
Outstanding find ted.
I will put up a hotfix.
Hello and ty.
Cav charges work fine for me, just tested it again with several factions and no issues. No idea what's going on with your game.
1. I'll look into it, it's never been brought up before.
2.You can turn on the unit markers in the mods cfg file
3.Axe throwers work fine for me and I haven't heard of anyone else getting ctds with them either, seems most likely something to do with your install.
Try out both the Northmen "Francisca" merc unit and the Sycorax axe thrower unit, see if both are causing you ctds.
You could try verifying the integrity of game files on Steam.
Read the Thera Redux readme file in the mod folder.
They should have it.
You need an imam, select the iman and look for the jihad button. If it isn't there the iman needs more piety.
Can you replicate and pm me the log file?
Copy paste all.
