About: DoomDb is a group in Moddb where you can share all the best kinds of Doom WADs out there! (As long as the rules are followed)

Rules:
1- Always credit the owner. You should also link the owner's homepage when sharing (although that is optional).
2- Its okay to share/post updates about WADs that you are making. If you are going to do this though, don't spam the page with its stuff. A picture or link is always enough ;)
3- Avoid sharing Terry WADs.
4- Avoid any kind of serious discussion in the comments. This group is for sharing WADs and having fun. If the user persists then the comments/image could get deleted.
5- Always contact the author and ask for permission before uploading a wad up here, unless your uploading wads that give you permission to distribute the file in their readme or if they are very old (more than 10 years). Having their mod uploaded in multiple places by other people can make it difficult to ensure everyone is using the latest version. If you are unable to contact the author, or the author says no, then simply don't upload it.

Top Wads:
Many have debated, many have fought, but there is one source that keeps on recognition to those whom stand out from the rest. It started with Cacoawards, but since then a top 100 wads of all time list was started, to cover every year since Doom's release.

Ports:

Doom 1 and 2 are long in the tooth but that doesn't stop modders from keeping it running on modern systems. Numerous ports that enhance the game to have many options, features, graphical improvements and bug fixes to keep it in tip top shape. The most notable of which:

ZDoom and its offshoot GZDoom (maintained by Graf Zahl), and Legacy (customization focused ports).
Zandronum (older version was called Skulltag)
Samsara (cooperative and competitive multiplayer support focused similar to Zandronum)
Vavoom
& Doomsday (advanced md2 model, lighting and hi-res texture ports)
Chocolate Doom (or a similar one; DoomRetro, limit-removing with some enhanced features, both are faithful nostalgic ports)

GZDOOM is needed

I tend to start working on a map pack with a gimmick, then I'll delete the first map after it's done because I don't want to use that gimmick anymore. I'm just going to make one map at a time and release them separately, and after I get a bunch done I'll release a big nonsensical map pack with them all in it.

I made the first level of a Doom II wad to get the hang of Doom Builder. Monster count is adjusted per skill level, and it's a bit tricky on Ultra-Violence, I think. I might turn this into the first level of a real wad someday, but I wanted to share my first level just to say I did it :P

have one main criticism with the map. the texturing could be better. I would google, John Romero's level design rules, they were the rules he used when making maps for the original Doom games.

Is my first wad and I just wanted to see what I could do. I think it turned out ok but I dont really know how to map a lot but it was fun. It took me about 5 or 6 hours to complete.

I have two main criticisms with the map. the Unmarked key doors, people really don't like them. then I would ingress the door into the wall a bit so there's some contrast between the wall and the door. Other than that, it's fairly good.

Hello fellow Doomers! You can find my wads over here at this Moddb.com link. I’m part of the Doomer Boards forum and every month we run a Doomer Board Project (or DBP) based around a theme chosen by that month’s leader. This project runs under Limit Removing format meaning it can be played in every Doom port except for Vanilla and Chocolate. These projects keep getting better every month and there are 10 to date which can be found at my link above and number 11 is well underway with some good maps already completed. Try them out, they’re good maps that don’t overstay their welcome, and feel free to drop by the Doomer Boards and check out the current month’s project and maybe try your hand at creating something yourself.
