A free-roaming squad based RPG. Focusing on open-ended gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a mercenary, a business owner, a doctor, a bandit... the list goes on.
Back at the start of December 2018 Kenshi left early access, finally marked feature complete after 12 years of development. As we said on Steam, most of the time was Chris working alone before expanding to a 6 person team and later shrinking back to a 4 man squad.
Now the studio is growing again we're happy to update the elements that were sadly neglected such as our IndieDB page. Once again we'd like to thank all of our players who have spread the word, supported us along the way and never given up on us during our long development. And of course we want to give a special thank you to all of our moderators and contributors who have given us their time and help to make Kenshi as good as it can be.

With the launch of Kenshi out of the way the studio now has three main focal points:
As things are somewhat under control we're also taking a more active role in the game's fan communities. If you're new or returning to Kenshi be sure to check out the two main ones at the links below.
Additionally we have a few official channels where you can keep up with the latest news on the game, highlights from the Steam Workshop and any competitions or other fun things we've got planned.
So, it's been a while since our last dev blog, mainly because we've been working on bug fixes (hence the more frequent updates), and not-so-bloggable...
Next up for release in the Newlands map, we have the swamplands and the canyons to the south west of the current section... and you'll be pleased to know...
Our next experimental update is coming soon, complete with a small performance boost and new weapons arsenal!
Expect an optimisation update and new map section in the next month or so...

I build a wall,with a ladder.on the top a defense_crossbow.
after my fighter use the defense_crossbow,I erased the ladder.

The enemies coming : they are flying in the air!reach the top of the wall,use melee weapons,hit the fighter's back.

UNFAIR TRUTH:
I found,a wild bonedog can defeate 4 "hungry_bandit" very easy.
BUT after I hired it,this bonedog always wait the "hungry bandit" beat it 2 times,then dog start attack the bandits.often,this bonedog can only defeat 2 bandits.
After I hired the dog,WHY it became a blind & stupid dog??
Then I did a test,
I cheat a super fighter who have 12000 dexterity_skill.
The hungry_banit only have 12 dexterity_skill.
BUT,my blind & stupid fighter still waiting for the enemy's first attack.
THIS IS UNFAIR!everyone after I hired them,will become idiots!

i have a problem when instal this. my game in v.0.72.1 64bit. there said ''kenshi has crashed''
Phoenix LXII should be adorned in jewels and topped with a crown with the finest gold around. I understand the shot is taken within the current assets however this is just a suggestion for the future - after the landscaping of the world is finished of course :). Any ETA on more lore? I enjoyed it quite a bit.
