there is something with the eyes...
the eye openings in the balaclava are angled too far downward; imo they need to be more furrowed, to create the illusion of an angry/menacing expression.

The giant and overly round eye sockets (seriously that's just not what eyes are shaped like)are so off-putting and, to a lesser extent, so it the lack of any real change in contours where his nose should be, although I get that it is a loose-fitting balaclava.
I don't know much, if anything, about Russian armed forces... but isn't that a VDV shirt he's wearing?
