After a long delay, HellStrike's v1.3 update is now here. Thank you for everyone who were still waiting. Enough pleasantries and down to business.
New Secondary Items for Player Roles
Roles now have a secondary choice of items. These can be changed in the roles menu (L) and the change will take effect after the next respawn.
Incendiary Grenades for Riflemen
Replaces Frags with Incendiaries that light the ground with fire. You will get a free one each round but can buy an additional one ($1500). Max capacity of two. If caught in an Incendiary's flames, players take fire damage for 2 seconds, even if they leave the fire. Sprinting will increase the fire damage. They can get themselves into water or drop to prone and roll to remove the burning effect early.
Landmines for Support
Placed on the ground and explodes when stepped on by an enemy, staggering them for 1 second, leaving them open for attacks. Your landmines will not be triggered by you or your teammates. You can kick landmines away from you to detonate them at a safe distance. Support with Landmines as their item choice can pick up Landmines with E and re-deploy them elsewhere.
Contract List for Marksmen
Gives a passive of +$50 for every kill and +$25 for anyone who assisted. During a round, the Contract List can be activated (Q) to get all the money you earned that round instead of recieving them at the end of the round. Once activated it cannot be activated again until the next round. The passive effect stays even if the item has already been activated.
Ballistic Shield for Medics
This item is unavailable at the moment and is still a work in progress. Currently its mechanics are half done and no 3D model for it still exists. Hopefully we can finish this item early next year.
New Vaulting Move Mechanic
You can now vault over ledges that are chest-high or lower by holding W and pressing space against a low wall. Can also be performed mid-air so if a wall is still too high, you can vault mid-jump to attempt to go over the wall.
New Player Dismemberment of Arms and Legs
Dismemberment is now complete. Now both arms and legs can be severed on death, along with the head. The chance for dismemberment is based on the weapon's caliber, the higher the better. Dismemberment does not bring any gameplay advantages and is purely visual.
New Bandage Mechanic for Stopping Bleed Outs (hold T)
A progress bar appears, you hear a heartbeat and the bloodscreen pulses. That means you're bleeding out. Hold T to bandage yourself. It will not heal you but will stop you dying from blood loss. Bandages never run out. Only Medics can bandage bleeding teammates. Medshots will still stop bleed outs and heal simultaneously but when you're all out of Medshots, bandages are the next best thing.
Animated Scopes to Remove Vision Tunneling
Buyable scopes for assault rifles and LMG are now animated to remove the tunneling effect when looking through them making for a clearer sight picture.
New Optional Crosshair (hs_hud crosshair 1-15)
A lot of players have been asking for it. Now you can play HellStrike with crosshair, just type 'hs_hud crosshair 1' (note the space), with 15 different crosshairs to choose from. You can type this command into 'listenserver.cfg' for bot games and 'server.cfg' for multiplayer games so you won't have to type them everytime.
There are three files where you can translate Hellstrike:
Tested with Cyrillic and Chinese characters.
This leaves the texts in the sprites. I might release a sprite pack in the future to translate them easily but I think this is already a job for modders.
