I'm really geting sick of the HL engine... the gameplay that is. I've been playing HL for the past 4 years, and every mod, every game based on the engine, but for the most part I'll be playing HL2 when it cames out.
hm... convey to a software that:
1) is a pain in the *** to use on linux (winex)
{the rest is equal for both windows/linux usage}
2) does always download crap-**** behind your back cluttering your discs
3) takes hours for simply "updating the steam platform"
4) had the glorious idea to tell me for nearly a week that i am "not able to run half-life right now" (luckily it decided otherwise after that)
5) can only be killed by alt-ctrl-del because if you close it it hangs
6) and so on and so forth...
the only way you can use steam is using it under winex under linux... then you just shut it down with 'killall -9 winex' and then the mouth is shut... no ram cluttering... nothing... linux rulez...

So yeah, I'll stick to HL2.
yeah, every hl1 mod is pretty... similar to themselves :P
this problem with the guns is right. whenever i come here to moddb i see straight another 'desert eagle', 'sniper rifle' or 'combat knife'... i know that hl is an FPS but even there you can have inovation: NS, Poke646, T2DEF to name a few.
Well, I don't have much of a choice on this one. I get it free, so whatever happens, if it's good or crap, I'll play it. Then I'll figure out what I'll do.
Just becauser there's a newer iteration of Half-Life going to be out does not make the original game or the hundreds of mods for it any less enjoyable. Eventually I'll probably be mostly playing Half-Life 2 and its mods, but I don't ever see myself not playing the original.
Nah.. I dun even play it now.
Maybe cause you play quake?
i will play hl but NOT hl2... sorry... but if i think about hl2 and steam(-sux) my foot nais start curling... U_U
Me == neither because I don't have Half-Life but will be getting Half-Life 2 though...
I think i'll be playing both, i mean i play quake 3 and quake 1 so i don't see what will change here.
Unless of course the gameplay is identical, then i'll prolly just update to the newer version with ubber graphics!

I'll still play HL1.. because HL2 won't even run on my computer.
nothing wrong with switching between versions of duke nukem, so i see no problem with switching between hl versions :P
Neither because Won will die and HL will go on steam now
steam sux... ahem
Meh, I been Steamed for two months and it isn't that horrible, people just don't like convey to another software. :|

Yeah...m16 here, ak47 there, and a guy with a camo and a guy with a mask... where's the fascination in all that? To gamble lucky to be a next CS?

Nothing can drag me away from my beloved half-life :D
well not even HL, but mods for HL 1...
Glad to see the majority will play HL and HL2 or atleast one of them still.
I will still play half-life because overall it's an great game
