the most influential games there are doom and quake most of the others used older engines or just didnt please hardcore gamers

Seriously though...I'm just a Half-Life junkie in general, I like to play alot of single player mods.

Thats the first game that really really captivated my heart and the first game i was lanning with :D
having said this i did used to play Duke 3D 2 player, but never as much as doom!
with me it's HL. the first FPS game especially which caught me with it's awesome storyline and just had charme. second ranked i would place quake. this was the first one i got into contact with... dude the lighting gun pWn3s just all.

HL is mostly ranked 3 or 4th in the all time list from many game magazines.
Why the game when it was released and to this day is on more PC's then any other game.

duke was the first that got me doing maps. so hell yeah, it had the greatest influence on me.
im still repeating phrases in realllife like the immortal 'what are you waiting for?'
i dont do that with hl phrases (are there any?).
i would have sticked to duke mods if it would have been released with q2 engine when the time was right some years ago.
Duke for me. Sure it wasn't revolutionary or anything, but it was my first FPS.

Roller Coaster Tycoon was the second game i actually really played. Since x wing vs tiefighter isn't on here then i'll have to start a mad chant for roller coaster tycoon!

Please, UT is good, but nowhere near as moddable as quake. Rollercoaster Tycoon doesn't need modding, and just remember: Half of the FPSs we play wouldn't be here/as good if Quake wasn't made :P
i chose 2k3, b/c there was no 2k4, and i think 2k4 has a better chnace over the fail's in some respect to 2k3
