buy the same thing twice? Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops are similar, but very different. And, with upcoming mod support, will make it even better!

Well, I don't really care, as I haven't played any CoD games, but hey, mod support is good!

So long as they include the map editor, I'm happy. They're probably not going to though because then people could just upload/re-create the DLC maps. Even if they made the Map Editor singleplayer only it would be cool, because then we'd get all kinds of wacky campaigns.

Ah well, only time will tell. Unless they made a blog post about it somewhere already and I missed it..

I have never seen a good looking and fully functional Sp map or a singleplayer mod for any Cod. Doubt that will change any time.

Nothing about the announcement feels 'good' for the community. If they wanted to expand their games with community input, they wouldnt have blown us off the first time round.

I agree modders should go elsewhere, rather than trying to beat life to a dead horse, which the devs will never give life to. They have no need to make one popular cod, they want people to buy each one of their new titles. every year

Modder do not waste your time on them!

Unless I am gravely mistaken, Mod support for anything is a good thing, at least, I have yet to hear of a game where Mod support has done the game a disservice (feel free to correct me!).
Anyway, I don't play COD, so I'll remain undecided. I'm more of a Halo fan myself, and I like the customization options that are built into the experience. (I mean come on, they made Halo Reach CHESS for crying out loud! A game of Griffball anyone?)
Oh, and Happy Easter to all!

Not a big fan of CoD games considering every single one of them since Modern Warfare is essentially the same. Unless some team can create an almost entirely different shooter or game out of the provided tools (like that Star Wars mod for #4), I seriously doubt mod support for Black Ops is going to be significant; most of them will probably be tweaked versions of the game itself.

After all, won't Black Ops die out when another CoD comes out?

I can't even believe there are still people who give a **** about the CoD series. It used to be great now it's just a money printing machine, nothing more.

Maybe a gem will come out of this. I am not afraid to say that I feel like a moron for shelling out $60 USD for Black Ops. Hopefully mods will make it all worth it. Hopefully...

Yea black ops may have been as overrated as all the other cod's (with the exception of 4) but hey, modding support is never a bad thing.

TheBloodbanshee Apr 28 2011 says:

Maybe Black Ops can have a mod that makes it feel like you're playing a good video game? No, I'm kidding... Maybe it could eventually make moar people interested in CoD and everything? Well, maybe if someone will release footage of a guy modding skins and adding objects to a blank map, viewing toolbars..... Then we can care more.
