For the next update we will be answering the age old question of "What makes us different to DoD:S and every other WW2 game out there". So we thought we'd open it up for a general Q&A session.

So if you have a question you want answered that isn't "When will you be releasing?" or "What makes you different to DoDS?" then reply/comment to this post and we will do our best to answer them in the next update.

To show the difference between the two games we'll have some videos showing off direct comparisons as well as lots of lists and analysis. We'll also get some honest comments from our testers, a lot who also play DoD.

Ask away!

Is the gameplay pretty much final at this point? The reason I'm asking is because movement seems a bit too quick for my tastes, especially considering the rest of the game seem to feel pretty realistic.

It's not really that quick, or doesn't feel so when you're playing it. In a lot of these videos you see a lot of sprinting happening, which is quicker than how DOD:S does it, but is not game breaking by any means. I think the walking speeds are slower.

As Steve said, the videos are a bit misleading. We have actually slowed down the player speed over the default HL2/Source values so you do in fact move slower. The only difference we have over DoD is that our finely trained soldiers have a little more stamina and can sprint a little longer than their asthmatic DoD counterparts.

Are you going to add campaigns/maps such as Canadians in Juno Beach, British in Northern Africa and Commonwealth in Burma? Overall I think players would enjoy experiencing battles that haven't been overused in mainstream games and mods.

Are there any plans for some of the more obscure British weapons like the Delisle Carbine and Welrod pistol in the future?

What weapons and classes are currently slated for initial release?

This has been explained in the FAQ, and even on the mod's header right here on Moddb.

My biggest problem with DOD was campers. My biggest problem with DOD:S is campers & people using the thompson/mp40. Is H&J going to be similar to DOD in the sense of weapon power?

Let me clarify what I mean. Camping plagues any game. But its especially annoying in DOD/DOD:S due to the fact that you have such little health/ weapons do so much damage. Even with objectives, hopefully not a simple CTF, players tend to camp with any weapon and are almost guaranteed a few kills do to the high damage factor.

In real war, "camping" is the only way not to get shot. The more "accurate" a shooter is, the more it will encourage camping.

That said, I'd like to ask the question too: how will you keep the game moving?

When running around holding w and mouse 1 with the thompson/mp40 do you get a lot of random dinks and random hs dinks that annoy me a lot? ... and will there be annoying random prone rockets?
