Version 1.5 is nearing completion.  The player can now set the camera following distance in third-person.  The player's settings must fall within a valid minimum and maximum distance that is set by the server.

I was also able to get first/third-person toggling in the mutator.  Now players can play in a manner that is comfortable for them without forcing others to play in the exact same way.

The only thing left to do is figure out how to include key binds in the mutator and I will release this version.

Nice! we really needed this :D You should get in touch with epic and try to get them to implement this as a standard patch because I think all the servers should use it.

Third person views can give the player an advantage that first person views don't have - as intervening terrain does not necessarily block line of sight - so not every server would want it and most wouldn't.

It is however a very nice optional mutator to have :)

It seems others are also having trouble setting up default binds for mutators. I've been told this may be fixed in the upcoming patch. Looks like 1.5 will be postponed for a bit. Right now you have to use the in-game setbind command (for togglecamera, increasecamerascale and decreasecamerascale) each time you restart ut3 because it doesn't load your bindings (even though they are saved to your INI file). I'd like to release the mutator, but I think most people will just load it and not read the documentation and thus think it is broken. Hopefully we will see the patch soon and the hints that this issue is fixed will be verified.

For 2.0, I am also looking for ways to make this work without subclassing UTPawn so it will play nicely with a wider set of mutators.
