Yet another news update with regarding to the development of PotE.

Current Open Positions:

Environment Artist...
You will need experience with modeling, texturing and animating environment props. This ranges (but is not limited to) ships, static props, pick-ups, and more. Experience with compiling for the Source Engine is required, previous mod experience is recommended.

Progression Report:

Yarr!!! Its been a while since our last update, and a few of our comments here have been asking us "not to die". I'd like to conferm that theres no plan for anything like this to happen, were going strong and heading towards internal beta at the speed of light!

Right now, were still sorting out the gameplay, we have the four classes (Captain, Skirmisher, Heavy, Engineer) and we have the different map/game types (ship vs ship, ship vs land, inland/Team Deathmatch, Capture the Booty, Destroy Ship)

Art-wise, we are slowly adding our own content to the mod, its a slow process as im sure your aware. But, we hope that we can release to you some more content heavy screenshots soon. Mapping has been going well, we have planned out which maps we are including in the beta release:

PotE_Bay
This is primarily a capture the booty map, however due to its wide posibilities two versions of this map will be released. One sutible for Capture the Booty, and another for Team Deathmatch.

This map consists of a bay opening onto the wide open ocean, the New World control a fort-like settlement, while the Caribbean Pirates spawn on a ship within the bay, there are many features included to help the capture/defence of the booty which is help inside this castle-fort.

DS_Sundown
This is a destroy ship map. Both teams spawn on seperate ships which are just out of boarding range. You must beat the enemy to destroying their ship. Both ships have a number of cannons, resupply crates and bottles of rum (health). This map takes place during day, an island will be seen in the far distance, through the fog.

TDA_Tortuga
This map is a inland team deathmatch. The map takes place in a pirate settlement, the Caribbean pirates spawn within the Salty Wench Inn. While the New World team spawn on landing boats on the shoreline. Each team is protected in their own base but useless to the mission if they remain there. It is the team with the most kills at the end of the round that wins. This map will take place at night, and will be lit by the lights from buildings and candle-light.

hello, Im Brad, and Im interested in applying for the modeling job. This is an example of my work:

I think Im quite a proficient low poly modeler. And although I know how to texture, uv unwrap and animate, I dont have experience doing it for a game project. Im currently taking a digital painting class, so I think I will be able to do some pretty decent texture painting. I dont have any experience with the source engine, or any other game engine which I see is required, but maybe you guys might want to take me on for a trial period to see if I can get up to speed.
