THE WIND announces it's latest media release!! For those of you new to what THE WIND is all about, here is a bit of information:
Our team is attempting to make a dramatic, feature length film using Machinima (video game driven animation). We have chosen the Half Life 2 engine because of its dynamic versatility and its huge user and information base. Building a Machinima is a lot like making a Mod. It requires all the same skills and has many of the same goals.
As for the STORY, I can only tell you this: THE WIND is a terrifying look at the tragedy that falls upon all of us when our fears and ambitions grow beyond our ability to be compassionate. While fluttering between fantasy and reality, THE WIND will explore the critical hot-topics of our time. The story is an interspersing of multiple sub-plots and various dreamscapes that come to a climax of epic proportions.
TO KEEP GOING, WE NEED FANTASTIC DESIGNERS LIKE YOU!
We are looking to increase the size of our online crew of artists to help with the production of THE WIND. This film uses video and machinima (video game driven animation). If you decide to join us, we can orient you with our project through our Production Guidebook and active forum that features tons of unseen concept art, storyboards and production stills.
Seeking:
- 3D modelers. Objects, player and weapon modelers. UV and Hammer skills a plus. Being that we are building a Midwestern town from the ground up, many of our models are familiar, everyday objects. All of our work is equally important and to be handled with attention and care and we love designers who want to ferry between nailing the familiar and the spectacular.
- 2D designers. Texture and skinning of 3D models and 2D artwork. UV and specular mapping skills a plus. We also look for designers who can think on their feet and bring their own ideas to the table.
- Animators. Familiar with Face Poser and Face Robot (SoftImage). Interested in motion capture and traditional animation a plus.
- Freelancers. If you can't fully contribute to the film but would but are interested in completing individual models or projects and work with Source or other related software, please let us know. We currently have several people operating on this capacity and it’s a huge help.
All candidates must be interested in taking direction and participating creatively and collaboratively. Each position is unpaid, but you will receive a film credit and great work for your portfolio! If you have any further questions, please contact me at robotbigfoot@robotbigfoot.com or drop by our website www.robotbigfoot.com..

Yeah MUSTANG ! Very good job.
damn that is some nice media.
Very nice assets you have here. Good luck finding some helpers.
wow, thats realy good :)
keep it up :D
yea nice job guys :)
Will be that car driveable¿?
this is a film... not a game
It won't be released as a game. And even if the cars are about to move, well, let's just say that it's easier just make a scripted entity that moves along a path triggered by either time or movement.
But that's just a guess, it might be driveable. Who knows?
Also, awesome looking mod. i'm looking forward to see more of this. I know you have an awesome team and that something good will come out of this.
Thanks gang, very nice comments!
Our team is really great - good vibe and friendly atmosphere. Sadly we're only about 6 regulars and a couple of freelancers. If anyone knows of anyone who does 3D modeling or 2D texture work, please let us know!
Thanks,
RB
Yes these textures and models are extremely well done. They are literally perfect.
awesome!!
if you got these tons of props and concepts, will you start producing animation, soon? Or are you first gathering your entire stock of assets and then cast actors and technical personel?
We're working on producing some animation soon. The casting is nearly complete and we're recruiting the technical personnel as we speak.
Thanks
RB
