Since this question frequently comes up and I am a disc user myself (pre-Gold Pack even...) 82nd_Toby has graciously written this brief article on how to install RotM or any EaW mod to Steam. If you have additional questions or something to add, leave your notes in the comments. Thanks 82nd_Toby for the article!

So, first step you want to do, is find a mod you want to download, preferably Rise of the Mandalorians, but any mod will do. Next, you want to go where Forces of Corruption is downloaded, here is how mine looks: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption\ If you did the recommended install, it should be in your C drive, or D or F or whatever it's called. Next, right click and and click New Folder and title it Mods if you haven't done so. Now, when you have downloaded the mod you wanted, extract it here. Up to this point, you have been following a disc user and how they install, so if this is confusing, go check that way of installing then come back here. Now, once you have extracted the mod, go to Steam and go to Star Wars: Empire at War Gold. Right click and go to properties. Click on that and a screen should pop up. On the screen that pops up, there should be something that says, SET LAUNCH OPTIONS... . Click on that. Now you want to enter this in and EXACTLY LIKE THIS or it won't work: sweaw MODPATH=mods\mod_name_here . So, go back to the mods folder and look at the mod name. Enter it exactly like it is showed. So if the mod is RotM then the mod path will be sweaw MODPATH=mods\RotM . If it's Thrawn's Revenge then it'll be sweaw MODPATH=mods\Imperial_Civil_War and so on and so on. But there you go guys! If that was so hard, just comment below. I may make a video just for you guys on how to download the mod and install it. Have a great day!

I Don't even bother with this, I just use the Steam Compatible version of the EAW Mod launcher. Saves time & I can switch mods with ease.

basically, just install the mod normally and use the set launch option he describes, easy.
Had Foc on disc too, but bought the SW collection and its easier than worrying about the disc.

You can rename the mod folders to whatever you want just as long as you can keep them organized (for ex. i rename thrawns revenge to 1 and if put that number there were the name should go it will launch without incident

I'm a pre-Gold Pack disc user myself, but I bet this is pretty useful for a lot of other people.
I remember going to an actual video game store and buying the original EaW disc one or two days after release back in the days...

Can't believe that was over ten years ago.
