Crossfire 2.0 - Progress update
After almost two years of development the new Crossfire mod is almost finished.
With Crossfire 2.0 we have created a mod that can only be described as "perfect". Alot of community feedback was taken into consideration to create an environment that the players will love.

The amount of work we have invested to build the new version was just massive. We still have a bit work to do on the storyline but are convinced to finish everything in December 2013.
That means the release is near.

I'd like to use this opportunity to thank the entire team and everyone who supported us.
Without the support of our dedicated helpers we wouldn't have come that far.

Progress and Release
Now that we are getting close to a release we thought we should release a bit more information about what we have done in the past two years and keep you up to date with the development progress.
On the left side of the Crossfire Mod profile here at ModDB we have added a small Crossfire 2.0 preview. We will give you a small overview about the most important highlights of the mod and show you in detail what we have changes and whats left to be done prior the release.
The progress bars and the change log will be updated regulary so you can keep track of the development.

Once the time has come we will also add a release countdown there.

nah... done long before thi article :) . I am waiting for this since I know the Crossfire. Now I can die in peace :D . Look, the new X Rebirth sucks, so the best solution for a space sim is Crossfire and even if the new X was not bad, this game will be a numero uno. And my son´s "Father, father, when will be the new Crossfire ready?" is finally over, so I am happy. Guys or girls, really thanx for this.
Sorry for my english.
I have a question. Can I make with the Crossfire 2.0 my personal server (nothing public) on my personal computer like with the classic Freelancer?
I dont think that this will be possible.
OK I understand... anyway, thanks.
why not?
Played Crossfire Since MOD came out, An ACE for the Team,
I am Hoping a Better and Bigger NAV MAP System will be implemented in Crossfire 2.0 (if Possible Of course) Since it is Hardcore in the Program.
Looking Forward for ver 2.0 (Still enjoying 1.9)
Need I the 1.1 patch or the unofficial patch? The storyline is stuck on 35%? What´s the matter?
There is no further patch required besides the patch that we make available by our own game launcher.
Thanx.
So it's 2014. I'm a mod developer myself so I know how boring it can be for people always asking "when it will be released" and that you are all doing this in your free time. I'm anxious to play it and if the release is couple of weeks away I'll wait for it instead of dowloading v1.9
as we have put a good amount of additional content and new features into the mod everythind delays a bit
more i cant say atm
devs.... could you make the AI a little bit manageable on the crossfire 2.0? cuz on 1.9 the damn enemy keeps on using repair bots and the nano bots... its a little bit annoying to fight them in a long dog fight.
The Server "cares" about our lives t'become more harder and it's correct!

Hi... I have a problems with textures in the game - no textures - with ENB Bump Mapping + Motion blur. With ENB Standard is all OK. I have a Optimus graphic card Geforce GT 630M 1 GB. Yes, maybe the problem is the d3d9.dll file, but for this problem exist a solution - I have tested it with many games:
Nexusmods.com?
I do not know what I did wrong.
Thanx for the reply.
we cant guarantee that all options are working for all graphic cards... thats why we have included different settings
select what is working
Firstly try re-installing DX9, also make sure freelancer and crossfire are using your GPU not your intel one. From Nvidia control centre
I am familiar with all of these things - DX9, ENB, SweetFX, FXAA, I use almost always the Nvidia control centre for game settings, my OS is clean and it´s working perfectly, etc.. I´ll try something else with Crossfire 2.0 and we´ll see. Thanks for reply.
2014 February
Not released ?
:(
working on it
When it comes out?
Please ?
when we finish it
I did not announce a release date yet as i dont want to run into the pressure to have to release it even if its not fully done by that time... and to prevent that mistakes are done based on this pressure.
We are working on it and when we think that its ready to be released we will do an announcement.

>>My english isn´t good - stört mich aber nicht(-:<<
Seems pretty sweet, can't wait.
Hey we've been waiting for a long time now and i was wondering if the mod is really coming. I was also wondering if there will be singleplayer option on the mod.
final works are being done
and it clearly will have a singleplayer mode with totally 31 new missions
Only 1%... only 1%...
Once I was a huge fan of the Discovery mod. However they destroyed everything with the 4.87 release. I just leave that ****. There was no strong NPCs, no battleship patrols anymore. Boring... not playable on LAN with some friends.
The Crossfire was just an another MMO out there. I hate the MMOs. But now they will release a server software to operate our own server. What is this mean? We can play this game during LAN parties. I hope the NPCs will be strong, and there will be capital ship patrols and random encounters. And of course battleship missions.
who said anything about releasing the server software?
I have seen it in the change log a long ago.
I have already asked for it, you will not be able to set up your own server.
No server software, even for local (offline) multiplayer? This is basically the entire reason I have ever played Freelancer.
Ok the Server is switched to 2.0
That means...? how many hours until we can play?

Is there any information about the delay?
It would be very nice if the download would be released this year ...
we are posting regular updates on the official forum
