In the current version of the mod, we know that there are two different types of ammo, loose ammunition, and boxed ammunition, and this has caused some confusion for people trying to load their magazines with both. The new ammunition system will vastly simplify this, while preserving elements from the old system.

Loose ammunition was originally conceived in order to cut down on the amount of ammo players found on corpses, and to serve as left-over rounds that are carried as extra ones not loaded into magazines. Loose ammo had its price reduced in order to be balanced in the economy, and boxed ammo was introduced as a form of "clean" ammunition that came into the Zone from factories and is sold on traders at marked up prices, and is found in many stashes.

However, an entirely new system of organizing ammunition is planned for a future version of ZoA, loose ammo will be unchanged, but the mechanics of boxed ammunition will be altered so that boxed ammo will not be classed as ammunition by itself, it will work like medkits in that using one box of ammunition will spawn all the loose rounds contained in that box into the actors inventory, and the boxed ammunition itself can be spawned from ammo crates, more or less making something like a nested-doll structure.

What this will do is it will free up space within the current magazine system, allowing for new types of ammunition to be used by magazines in the game, and those all will also have their boxed parent forms.

And to deal with all the excess of loose rounds I have another function for traders, which is ammunition exchange. The idea is that traders will accept a set number of loose ammunition from the actor (approximating the loose ammo count into ratios that represent a boxed equivalent) and the trader will take that ammunition, and give the actor the corresponding number of boxes at a discount. So in essence, for taking loose ammunition the trader exchanges boxed ammunition at a reduced price of his regular cost for that item.

Sorry about this question, but i´m new in this. Can you explain how the magazine system works?? your mod is amazing, but i don´t know how to reload the magazines. I tried to understand the theory but is kind of hard. Everything else is great. Greetings from Chile!

Ive dozens of 1/2 empty magazines for guns i dont want but that id like the ammo from, would it be possible to empty them?
