Description
Rugged and crude, these weapons have found their way on many corvettes and frigates throughout the galaxy. Designed to take a beating, the Rebel AA Laser features a good punch versus shields and armored hulls with excellent range coverage. It has become the standard on many a New Republic and Pirate craft throughout the spaceways.
so a very rugged built turret, this weapon is most noticeably seen on the sides of the CR90 Blockade runner corvette.
Only now i realise how ridiculously tiny the actual turret is lol, but they look amazing on the corvette haha
I updated the picture to show placement on the CR90 and Nebulon B nose
It is probably the smallest turret on a ship (excluding freighters), so the pixelation is a bit more apparent due to being in scale with the ship textures. I wanted to have some visible texture 'relief' to the turret so that it does not look completely flat when viewed from a distance. when zoomed out at this range, the player will still observe some bumps on the actual model.
May the Gods of performance have mercy on the mod :P

It looks a little beat up. Have you tried making it a little cleaner and whiter. It just looks a little too grubby and grimy compared to the hull of a CR90.

You have not seen our textured CR90 yet....
In the picture, only the turret is textured, the ship model is only a model mesh without a texture.
The CR90 will look similar to our DP20: Moddb.com

The textures you guys have made are great, they are just noticeably different to the models used in the movie and sold in store which are whiter, smoother and cleaner.
We are purposefully portraying our textures in a darker, more gritty appearance. This is to help set an ambiance of the era, a dark time for the galaxy where everyone was fighting for survival amongst great despair and the threat of total extinction.
Shiny new looking ships will not be found in this mod. The Vong War takes place after decades of warfare and battle. Any ships deemed serviceable in this era would be the survivors of years of fighting the imperial warlords, so all ships are a bit banged up and battle worn.
The Tantive IV was a political courier vessel, so it was cleaner, and did not see much combat in its time.
We are also limited to what the Alamo engine is capable of performing. We attempt our best to bring realistic detail to the game, and if you compare to EAW's original textures, we have made tremendous accomplishments in pushing the Alamo engine to its limits.
