Wars of Azeroth will play much like and is inspired by any real time strategy game you're familiar with (Age of Empires, Warcraft, Starcraft, C&C Red alert, etc...) Although instead of "playing God" and looking down on the map as you build your city and create units, you're an actual unit of the game, playing in a third person view, racking up kills and raiding the other team's city while still having much of the power and control you would have in a RTS game.
You and your teammates start out with nothing, except for a main hall and a few laborers. From there you'll have to protect your town and resource income, expand and upgrade your city and it's defenses, and get as much gold as you can by either collecting it yourself or pillaging and killing the other team.
As you become richer, you'll be able to upgrade your unit along with their weapons/armor, hire NPC units to follow you, and purchase an array siege equipment to smash the other team's city to the ground.

WoA will also include other game modes and will use alot of the potential code from the source.

well as some of you know the illiadans wake team change it look, concept, story and name for us to work more free with the possibilities which we could not when we were based directly on Warcraft.

We now have a nifty story line which is still in progress and a more improve concept which is more realistic to the possibility to the hl2 engine.

we want to show off the most basic warrior class the greenskins have which is brawler and his axe this is not the final model but we want to finish all the models and then improve.

The coder we had wasnt really that experienced enough to do what we set out to do.

we lacked team members and we didnt have anything to update to get new modders involved, we still continued but after our website went down, i had work, studies and a new found thing for manga and the co-leader went to another mod, then i saw no point to continue at this point.

Because of the legal issues of trademark, copyright, and the fact that it didn't really suit us, we have now changed our mods name (Illiadan's Wake) along side most of the concepts with a new story which will be out quite soon.
