Stupid hippies!

Are these warriors or gardeners? I mean seriously! Do you expect these guys to stand still against a cave troll?

Yeah, I guess the soldiers of Imperial Japan were sissies too - they fought for a guy with a chrysanthemum for a symbol. Or maybe the War of the Roses was literally fought between armies of roses, or by guys throwing roses at each other. Erg.

Anyway, it seems appropriate to me; soldiers of Eriador would be proud to carry a symbol of the peaceful life they were defending.

Agreed!

Don't forget the french Lily was a very popular army symbol in the middle ages. to carry a flower to the frontline is very appropriate and proudfull issue.

I like it! ;P

Warriors of Japan didn't face Cave Trolls, Nazguls, Bezerkers in a world full of giant spiders and mount doom. Basically, a samurai's mask was scary back then. Was typical to have a symbolic flower :P

Seems to me the more terrifying the thing you're fighting, the more you'd want to remind yourself of the contrast with what you were defending. Given the kind of "anti-nature" bent of Sauron and Saruman (tearing down trees, furnaces and all that), the flower makes a pretty nice symbol of what the Free Peoples are trying to protect.

Still, I don't want to seem like I'm arguing with you, specifically - other people made similar comments - just kind of annoyed me!

At the height of the Japanese Empire, I think they could have screwed over quite a few armies of morder. Losing about three men. You forget that Japan existed after there were samurai. And I think tanks are much much much more frightening then trolls...

Hey come on, lets be realistic here (Talking about an unrealistic circumstance though lol). Cave Trolls! They can endure severe pain and yet they will still charge in and swing like a bezerker! Various people will get hit and the ones who hit them are the likely candidates. Elite melee sword wielders like the Samurai aren't trained for it, also these elite troops were limited anyway!

@ Ilsamir_Lord - I like your point actually. The contrast to "such hate" is ideal.

Listen. Cave trolls are nothing compared to a hundred men cutting each other apart with all kinds of sharp weapons, the sounds of people screaming fill the battlefield and no trolls are needed for that.

What's is the problem with you guys? It's Athelas/Kingsfoil, very fitting for Eriador, and like someone else said flower symbols are not unheard of in the military, fleur de Lys anyone?

"French lol"

Erm. The French were actually a major force to be reckoned with when they marched under that particular banner. And let's not forget that one of the three or four greatest conquerers of all time was, aha, French.

Still, all a bit beside the point, because Eriador isn't even out for conquest, they just want a quiet bit of country-side to smoke pipe-weed in!

yes actually the medieval french army's and also some england armys wearing the "fleur de lys" symbol not only the french, maybe the spain to a bit, it was part from the crest with others symbol in the medieval time. that not make them bad *** like the troll or the isengard berserkers but at least you can always use them in front line face to the trolls and dont regret to lose them thats a good point :p

sry for my english

I can say this mod is very cool actually I enjoyed playing with the mordor (swarm style :p), rohan, isengard, high elves( only archer you can destroy an entire armys before they reach you amazing, only Mumakil warning)

I like the flowers. If I were a knight I would wear one too. Acually, in mount and blade I chose a flower with a celtic knot looking thing around it and I liked it very much.
