Third Age Total War: Wars of Arda is the only mod representing Middle Earth during 1900 TA. At this time there are the rule of the Kings still reigns in Gondor and their power is seen from the Belaegar to the Sea of Rhun. The dunedain of Arnor however struggle to survive as one-by-one each of the petty kingdoms is picked off by Angmar. The legacy of Vidugavia is in ruins in Rhovanion, and the fractious peace held together by Gondorian rule is shattered after the coming of the dreaded Wainriders! Dragons rule in the North, the Haradrim shake off the yoke of tyranny of their Adunaroth (adunaim) overlords, and the East is aflame due to the machniations of the Blue Istarii. But if that wasn't enough for you, Durin's Bane awakens in Khazad-Dum, a new "Cult of the Ring" forms in the ruins of Mordor, and of course, the Dark Lord himself earns his title of "necromancer" at Dol Guldur. Nowhere else in Tolkien's storied timeline of events on the planet Arda is there a period so packed with action and adventure, save perhaps the Silmarillion. Unlike the Silmarillion, these events are frequently forgotten. We seek tell this story here, and to fill in the gaps that Tolkien left to make for possibly the biggest RTS setting in Middle Earth out there!
Note that we're still early days in development and we could really use some new members of our development team as we're looking to add 4 new factions and a campaign!

Greetings and welcome to another adventure!
I am Bilbo the lead developer behind Third Age Total War: Wars of Arda. I am pleased to bring to you the third installment in our developer diary series! You'll forgive me as this video has been out for some time and I am only just now posting it here. We also have a couple preview images to display for your enjoyment here as a teaser for what is to come:
These are three of the bodyguards for the Kingdom of Zaharinbar, who are better known as the Dwarves of Ered Luin.
And below you can see one of the mountain men of Dorwinion (who will be updated a bit) facing off against one of the horrors of Ungoliant's brood.

any update on when campaign will be ready
We were hoping to have had at least a barebones campaign ready by now. Essentially we are waiting on a new campaign map and we'll be off to the races.
Is this project still alive? seems like there hasn't been a update on here for quite a while
It is indeed still alive, just under wraps until it's ready for a presentable release.
Yeah that's what I am wondering too....its probably dead now.
Not dead in fact, just lots of work behind the scenes. That and I haven't monitored the moddb page much I will confess.
Without campaign its okey mod but for me very close to one we already have Reforged mod ,i am hoping that this will growe in campaign gameplay rather then multiplayer
We are going as quickly as we can to get started on campaign. Trust me no one wants this more than me. But when we're going to have more factions than any other Middle Earth mod for medieval 2 total war (because we will reach the game's limit) it will be much easier to get our factions added first and then we will start the campaign.
TLDR: stick around and we will shift our focus to the campaign.
is the campaign playable?
Not quite yet unfortunately. We're still building factions for multiplayer. Once we're done with that, it will make campaign development much easier.
