The Worry of Newport is a two part Horror/Mystery built upon Crysis 1. It is an interactive narrative and story built upon the first person perspective around immersion, story, and atmosphere.
The Worry of Newport Final. Both editions patched to their maximum threshold, complete with a new custom UI, loading screens, loading animations, cutscenes, level design and more. EXPAND FOR INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS.
- Extract TheWorryOfNewportFinal anywhere on your computer- Move the folder Newport2 to Crytek/Crysis/Mods(If folder Mods does not exist, create it)
Launch Crysis, and set your graphics options to Very High. Go back to the main menu and open up the Mods tab, and activate Worry of Newport. Continue onto a new game as normal when Crysis reboots. You know you're playing TWON when the main menu UI is our custom one. Remember to activate the mod every time you play.
Is this the complete patched version?
Mhm! This is both Part 1 and 2 built together with every patch built in that has been released up to this point, and includes the "Final" patch as well. (Changelog on the latest newport news post)
This is the definitive, latest, and final release of Newport.
Thanks, and my best compliments for your work! :)
Really pro quality.
Thank you! I look forward to hearing your thoughts after you play through it.
First of all a deep bow for your great work: a Lovecraft-geek like me would gladly pay to play a game like this! Just a question: are subtitles present? If so, how can they be enabled?
Subtitles are not present at the moment, but like any mods that reach final quality, we might add them in future hotfixes, in the same vein that Dear Esther, White Night, and others did when they were done patching.
So with Gamefront mirror down, Desura is the only way to get this?
Poor interface design meant that I didn't see the 'option' (hyperlink) for mirrors. I have the mod now and it is amazing! Thank you!
Looks good and all, but I can't freaking load it! Crysis is patched to 1.21, I put Newport2 folder in the Mods folder in Crysis. Will not load. Like it doesn't exist. What gives? The instructions are so bare I couldn't have missed anything. Can someone help?
If you have Origin, crysis is not actually patched. You'll need to manually patch it. If you have steam, add "-mod Newport2" without quotes to the end of the target or shortcut launching parameter box.
The instructions are so bare because the installation is ridiculously easy. 9/10 times these kind of errors are due to crysis being twitchy or patch issues.
Thing is, I have neither Origin or steam versions. I have the disk version, and it requires neither. I patched to 1.21, tried the -mod Newport2 thing, didn't work. Any more ideas?
Can you give me a screenshot of what your target box looks like? And for what your Mods Folder looks like? This is certainly unusual, it should be working fine since crysis mods are fundamentally very easy to install.
I figured it out... i had to add -mod Newport2 OUTSIDE the parenthesis, lol so simple but I must not have caught that in the instructions. I don't think that was specified, must have been implied. Sorry for the trouble, thank you!
Btw fantastic mod! truly was good, story was good and so were the voice actors. The story still left me very puzzled... like part 1 and part 2 were different or something. Still great mod!
The story has a cohesive narrative, the events of Part 2 explain the "dreamlike" mystery of Part 1. I would be glad to answer any questions you have through PM if you want to send me them. I'm very glad you liked it.
Im having a problem. when i hit load mod, it just reloads regular Crysis. anything i may be doing wrong?
I have the same issue can some provide a fix?
You guys need to add -mod Newport2 at the end of your Crysis shortcut target if the mod menu isn't working. This is a Windows related glitch. Also insure your game is patched. Origin does NOT autopatch Crysis, so you need to do it manually.
