For you...
High polycounts only affect "low-end" PCs. If you have a "high-end" PC, the only thing you need to worry about is object count and AI. That is the reason for low poly modeling, so that even the low end PC guys can play.
Anyway, models look nice, but you probably already knew that :P
Dont worry, You can also put without shadows. Faster like a "dragster"! Is the way. OR I degree the model quality, and make a "LOW" or "LITE" version of mod. (Another hard work).

You will eventually need to remake Koalicija howitzer. Current promotional pictures clearly show that final version is not going to be just MSTA with 2 barrels:
