I have to admit that i was expecting some kind of downgrade when it was finally in game. This time, i love to be wrong.

Leaders of the West instead of the Men of the West, I guess men was too anthropocentric. ALL RACES MATTER!

Well can't say "Men of the West" when shield maidens share the class as well...

I thought that:
Men = Human race.
Man = Gender.

English, however, is not my primary language, so... i could be wrong.

The word men is also the plural of man. Both words are used for the male gender and mankind. But that is all semantics. =p I like that Rider chose Leaders of the West because the word men does have two meanings and let us hope that we see Shield Maidens eventually. ;)

Thank you for the detailed explanation friend.

In my humble opinion, i prefer the word -men- because not all leaders of the west where humans, like Elrond or Galadriel, and it kind fits more with the lore, since Tolkien and the movies use the word "men" to describe the race of humans (thank God they didn't use "humans", i find the word too scientifically advanced for that Era, i hate when rpg use that, Elder Scrolls, i think, is the only rpg these days that uses "men" for humans and "mer" for elves).

But my opinion is irrelevant before this awesome project. Keep the good work friends!

The reason we decided not to use the word 'Men' is because we are viewing the CaH more in terms of good and evil 'classes'.

The Gondor Captain, Rohan Horse Lord and Shield Maiden will likely be joined by heroes like the 'Elf-lord of Rivendell' or 'Erebor Guard-captain' in the same class category. Similarly, what is now the Elf class will be renamed to the Ranger class and may feature things like Dúnedain/Ithilien Rangers and Elven Marchwardens.

I see, my friend. You guys are not separating by "races", but by classes.

Thank you for the answer, Mathijs.

Nice. Create-a-hero is such a unique little feature. I don't think any other RTS of note has included such a mechanic since.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
