READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW! A standalone re-release of Version 4.1.
Hi!
Oof. We're having some technical difficulties with the AotR Launcher,
so we decided to release 4.1 standalone for now.
Once the Launcher is fixed, we will make it independently available.
If you have a working version of 4.1 already installed from the previous days,
you don't have to uninstall that and may disregard this new file.
For a full list of changes, please refer to the CHANGELIST.

HOW TO INSTALL
- Download the Installer
- Unzip the contents of AotR_4.1.zip
- Run Installer.exe
- The installer creates a shortcut to AotR 4.1 on your desktop
PLAYING ONLINE
For using T3A:Online, nothing has changed - just make sure RotWK is hooked from the T3A:Online Launcher.
For using Gameranger, the process has been simplified:
- Open Gameranger
- Go to Edit > Options...
- Find and select Rise of the Witch-king
- Under Location, select Browse
- Browse to your Age of the Ring 4.1 installation folder and select lotrbfme2ep1.exe, then click Open.
To play normal RotWK, reverse this process by selecting lotrbfme2ep1 from RotWK's installation folder.
********** PLEASE READ BELOW **********
- This is a full version. You don't need to have previous mod versions installed.
- AotR 4.1 does NOT yet support 2.02 v8.2.0. To play Age of the Ring, either don't update to the latest 2.02 version or use the 2.02 launcher to set your Rise of the Witch-king to v8.0.1.
- There is still a launcher.exe present in AotR 4.1's installation folder. You can use this to uninstall Age of the Ring, get help for Gameranger using Options > Gameranger, as well as launch the mod. There is no update available, so pressing Update does nothing.

Hi, I have not been able to install the new version, every time I try to tell me that the application cannot be executed, did the installer develop only for 64 bits? or it is due to another problem, my pc is 32 never had a problem with the previous installers !! can they fix it? I would really like to play this mod in its new version !! I hope your answer, thanks.
Hello, this happened to me as well. I hope someone can explain to us what we are doing wrong. Great mod nevertheless, I am really impressed with the graphic quality.
I don't know your problem specifically but every time I had a problem installing these mods and updates one thing that always resolved it was installing everything again from the top. Literally from BFME 2. Its a pain yeah. Its only solution I know
My game have a problem Boromier is not showing playing in fortress Maps when i select fortress for my side while click hero spawn Boromier is not there why!?
All you need to do is recruit another hero from citadel and Boromir will become available in the menu.

When i try to install the stand-alone 4.1 version, it gives me a virus report and deletes the files. Maybe you can check this.
I guarantee you its a false positive. Just make an exception or disable the antivirus during the download ans instalation

Hi. I have problem with my resolution in this mod. Base game is 1980x1080 but when i launch mod it is set to lower res. Can I fix this somehow? I have done repair and tryed to install it again but it didnt help.

I can play with Edain mod installed, you just need to switch the version of WOTLK! however there may be issues with certain game modes. I am trying to figure this out myself atm
I am having trouble extracting the zip files. I downloaded the file but when I go to extract them, it is just frozen without doing anything. Did I do something wrong?
I keep getting "file skipped unknown compression method" error when I am trying to extract the files? Does anyone know how to get past this?

I have a problem when launching the game, everything on the screen is just pink. I have patch 1.06 activated and have followed the common misstakes tab to the best of my abilities anyone know whats going on?
So the custom Lord of the Rings campaign portion of the game works fine, loads up with no issues what so ever. However if I try to play any other game mode, skirmish, war of the ring, etc it instantly crashes. I have Edain mod installed as well not sure if thats causing issues.

Very nice mod! Few bugs I found so far: Imladris can't use custom heroes. Also Fortress: Last home etc (Rivendell) and custom made Osgiliath castle crash the game for some reason. Are you going to import Angmar faction at some point? Also I'm not sure about other factions, but atleast Lorien has Frodo (with Sam) as a ringhero, which is (yeah, lore-wise sure but...) pretty underwhelming imo. 1800hp on a ringhero that is basically useless like other Hobbits. I'd like to have some options for the Ring usage, give it to Galadriel, spawn Celebrimbor or something cool, because Mordor gets Sauron for an example. And the ring was originally a big factor on all factions. Cheers! ^^
The answer to your non technical questions is the FAQ article. I was upset with the ring heroes to but their explanation makes a lot of sense and makes the game more true to the lore.

Switch from the ROTWK patch 2.02 v8.2.0. to an older version like 2.02 v8.0.1., that fixed it for me

Went to play skirmish just now and Gondor and Rivendell AI dont build at all.
Other than that it seems an amazing mod.

I keep getting an error after finishing the install. I am very new to the mod life but I love this game, any help or tips in terms of how to actually do this would be greatly appreciated. I read a page that said I should make duplicate copies of my ROTWK and then save the mods in there as well? thanks.
