The Great War is a modification for Company of Heroes meant to bring the war two decades earlier. This mod focuses on the later years of the First World War. Currently the two teams will be the British Expeditionary Force against the German Empire, however with time the team will try and bring some more nations in, such as France and Austria-Hungary. This mod will focus or realism but keep the game balanced enough to make it enjoyable. Things to look for in the mod are the famous artillery strikes and the infamous gas attacks. Trenches will provide vital cover for infantry while tanks will roll over the battlefield and instil fear into the enemy troops.

One for each version (male and female). You can see the weaponry is different.

Those are designations to differentiate the armaments fitted in the sponsons. The "male" version had two 6-pounders in the front sponsons and machine guns elsewhere, while the "female" had only machine guns.
There were also "hermaphrodite" models with a 6-pounder in one sponson and machine guns in the other.

Yes. You can see it on the second Beutepanzer in this image, and on one of the A7V. This wasn't universally applied though, and for the sake of diversity we'll keep both.

It's a "Beutepanzer", a captured tank being used in German service. It's the same Mk IV model you see in the two previous pictures, but in German colours. The German Imperial Army made use of about 40 captured Mk IV in the war, which is more than their own 21 A7V (counting only the battle ready ones).

The original CoH is like "real WW1" as far as it concerns 1918, or to be more precise the Kaiserschlacht and the Hundred Days Offensive. Those are the particular phases of the war we're portraying.
