The Four Horsemen tells the story of Alistair - a 19th century researcher who has devoted his life to the study of the Four Horsemen. When the horsemen are called to Earth, Alistair makes haste and prepares himself to destroy them at the very place they were summoned.

  • General - Added a few more enemies.
  • General - Adjusted lighting in a few areas.
  • Portal - Made the cut-scene trigger bigger.
  • Hub - Removed the lever for Death.
  • Hub - Easier to find the place to rest.
  • War - Fixed the repeated voice bug.
  • War - Changed note to be easier to follow.
  • Death - Respawn barrels in Death if you throw them off the edge.
  • Death - Adjusted so props in the alcove area.

I'm leaving this same rating in the community ratings aswell, but here are just a few things I have to say:

This custon story was awesome. A-W-E-S-O-M-E. From A to E. Storyline in this is SO great, that it might even beat the original Amnesia story. (!)

I liked the mapping and everything, almost perfect!

-Voice acting
-Great mapping
-Great storyline!
-Great puzzles, and overall scripting
-Good story, even better than the original Amnesia!


-I found the "Death" quarter very boring
-I had to replay the story due to the glitch that happens in War quarters
-I did not find this very scary, also there weren't too many monster encounters.

Due those little little flaws, I drop my rating from 10 to 9. Good job anyways! :-)

I click on the hole in the floor but gives error,says "could not script file: the four horsemen/maps/...." and I don't know why, someone can help me?

This is because you don't have patch 1.2 Justine. If you have a retail version I think Frictional added some support article to install it correctly somewhere. Otherwise just update the game here

To add to my last comment, the game autosaved roughly 15 times within 20 minutes during the Famine passage. Yet it did not save the entire time I was in the War passage. Now if I had to backtrack for some reason, I have to redo the entire thing.

There's an oversight by the developer(s) that should be addressed.



Upon retrieving the orb pieces from the final hidden chamber in the War passage, you are assailed by a monster. If you die by this monster, you will respawn in the mentioned chamber. There are two problems with this:

- upon donating the thalers, you are immediately able to pick them back up again
- you cannot leave the chamber, as there is no secondary means of escape

Please fix this. Thank you.

Simply brilliant. Kudos to you and your team for a fantastic custom story. I thought it was better than the original. Great concept and voice acting.

This mod was great, but spoiler alter, after I paid the coins to open the passage way. I was chased by a monster, died and then when it reloaded I was trapped in that passage way with no way out. Did anyone have that problem?

For all those who couldn't figure out the avian sitting on the torn fabric riddle:
Notice that all the banners have a black bird symbol. There is one banner which is torn (Thus the avian sitting on the torn fabric) . The banner is in the passageway by which you enter the teleportation room. Press the button at the bottom of the torn banner.

The ground shaking location is where you use the lubricant to unjam the wheel to get out of the place. Its a wall right behind you, which will open after pressing the button. (It just has few tinderboxes and a note)

This was a INCREDIBLE Custom Story, it may not be as long as the Dark Descent but it is definitely nearly as awesome, if not as awesome as the Dark Descent. 9.5/10

The custom story is great. After I paid the coins to open the hidden room, I was chased by monster and I died. When the game reloaded, I was trapped in that hidden room and I could not get out. I wonder if anyone else had this problem and if it was fixed, because I would like to play it, I am just worried it will happen again.
