Tactical Fleet Simulator third generation (TFS 3G) is a complex, total overhaul of Homeworld2 with the objective of transforming the game into a tactics-oriented combat simulator. Recurring themes are quasi-modern (circa 20th century) air and naval doctrines modified for three-dimensional movement, complete with a proper unit classification scheme. Grand strategy plays a significant role, with the emphasize on battlefield adaptability, simulated by the large amount of available assets with similar albeit different roles.

Tactical Fleet Simulator v2.5.0 Released (2/23/08)
TFS v2.5.0 and an update to the initial Mac release, v2.5.m, has been released. Among the most important changes to the Mac version are the game mode fixes, in the previous version multiplayer and skirmish games would often crash after they ended. The mission objective options now function properly, and the Defense game mode actually works - the game now ends once all enemy or allied command stations have been eliminated. Frigate effectiveness has also been reduced in comparison to fighters and corvettes to as they were in previous releases of TFS. There may still be several bugs with the single player campaign in particular, as such any feedback would be much appreciated for v2.5.1. There's no official release date for TFS v2.5.1 as of yet, but so far I'm working to further improve the CPU player AI and sort out any issues with the current v2.5.0 and v2.5.m versions.
Mac users can download the latest version from filefront (PC users have to wait until it's uploaded to Moddb :P) TFS v2.5.m Download
