Tactical Fleet Simulator (TFS) is a total overhaul with the aim of transforming Homeworld2 into a tactics-oriented strategy game. Initial versions aimed for a more immersive tactical "simulator" orientation, the current version provides a more refined and consistent RTS experience.

Please consider this to be constructive criticism...

In my opinion, all those models incorporate too many design features of acctual modern military aircrafts.
The thing is that today's aircrafts are more or less optimised to operate in an atmospheric environment with a gravitational field.
Since there is neither an atmosphere nor a very strong gravity field in deep space space fighter would most likely look considerably diffrent.
For instance, they could have a more spherical shape with not one fixed-direction jet engine but with multiple adujstable engines each pointing in diffrent directions for better maneuverability. The same goes for the armament.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy playing TFS and I highly appreciate the changes and improvements of the original hw2 fractions which all very well fit the style of the game.
Nevertheless, I do not belive that TFS will benifit of another fraction with more or less the same design features.
I am convinced that a new fraction with completely revised ship designs and game mechanics (earning ru, building ect.) would make TFS a lot more interesting.
I am also aware that this would be the hardest thing to ask for but i think it's worth a try :D

I am aware the ship designs are not completely realistic, as they were largely inspired by the Taiidan fighter designs. TFS abandoned striving for realism a while back in favor of providing a well-balanced, somewhat realistic gameplay experience for multiplayer games. The Homeworld2 engine is severely limited as it is for realistic space combat. As for these ships, they will be used for a brand new playable faction complete with a unique order of build and research.

Well actually ships in space probably would have somewhat a atmospheric look to them partly for orientation value but also because most likely any pilot would start their training within an atmosphere not outside of it.
