Stargate Shadow Magic is a modification for Age of Wonders Shadow Magic, which will turn the world of the game upside down by changing the theme from medieval fantasy to Stargate. War with catapults, swordmen, archers and galleons is over; war with firearms, Staff Weapons, fighters, Deathgliders and spaceships begins.
In beta 0.3, which was released on 23. December 2009, you can take control of your forces as Major General George Hammond of Stargate Command on Earth, K'Tano, leader of Jaffa Rebellion, and as powerful Goa'uld System Lords Apophis, Heru'ur, Yu, Ba'al, Cronus and Nirrti.
Fight as a Tau'ri, send MALPs and SG-teams to another planets trough the Stargate, set up offworld bases and fly accross the galaxy with Prometheus- and Daedalus-class battlecruisers, escorted with squadron of F302's.
Liberate your people as commander of Jaffa, turn against your old masters, let every Jaffa in the galaxy know that the Goa'uld are not gods. Fight for your freedom, send fearless Jaffa warriors to destroy your enemy with Zat'n'ktels, TERs, Staff Weapons and suicide charges with Jaffa Bombers. Build ships like Deathgliders, Al'kesh, Pyramid Ships and Ha'taks to defend your homeworld against space attacks.
Build your empire as Goa'uld, conquer primitive planets with attack from space or trough the Stargate, build Ha'taks and Flagships to defend your territory and to launch great offensive to become Supreme System Lord. Conquer the galaxy in the name of your god!
In beta version, there is 6 races; Tau'ri, Jaffa, Goa'uld, Horus Goa'uld, Serpent Goa'uld and Primitives. More will come, such as Asgard, Tok'ra, Anubis' army, and Ori. Stay tuned!
Geez, 31.10 already. Where has the time gone?
Stargate Shadow Magic is progressing quite fast. Lots of new units have been made during past few weeks. And long credit of it goes to MerlinGalgotta and Stargate modding group, thanks to them I've got lots of great spacecraft! This far there is Al'kesh, Pyramid Ship, BC-304, Flagship, and Ha'tak made by them. I really appreciate the help. :)
So what is still missing for beta? There are few units still needed to be done. At least Officer, new Assault Infantry and MAT for Tau'ri, and Jaffa Bomber, Priest, TER-jaffa and Horus Guard for the goa'uld. And then there is lots of settings to be made, abilities, maps and other stuff. There is still much to do.
But, to stay positive, I'm going to say my goal is to release Beta version before year 2010. It is possible that I can't make that sentence true, but I'm trying my best. And if tyou think you can be of any assistance, don't hesitate to tell me. =)
