Hello one and all. With the Beta close to release, I figured I would show some work I have done to the Poseidon. Enjoy.
Interesting, I like it. :)
It has that Big enough to have it's own zip code look to it, Could we see it beside the BC-304??
i completely agree with that comment. this is my favorite ship by far. i wanna see it in a Side by side with a Hive
it could have its own ZIP, has enough people on it and has the craft to carry the mail =P
it looks a lot better than some carrier tauri type ships ive seen
Wow. This is interesting. Is it a capital or not? Like playing with only capitals. Every computer and mod I have for Sins has the award "Go big or go home".
It is a capital ship but the mod will not all be about capital ships. There will be a lot of different types of support ships and special abilities.
i like how it has aspects that remind you of the 304. looks like something the tauri would actually build.

u should give it like flack bust and anti fighter abilities to make it a more useful ship
like flack burst and pinpoint railguns or something so it can target strike craft
Its a carrier. I can agree with the flak cannons. But it should have heavy weapons on it as well

On the topic of weapons, maybe long range missiles like the current LRM frigates, that way the carrier doesn't try to get in the thick of it like current Sins carriers, i never understood why a carrier thought it should be a front line ship lol
Well thats what i mean if they have flack burst and like pinpoint rail guns like a gardas there own suiside run things could be usefull and since its a capital ship it needs a few heavy guns so like an asgard plasma beam ability or something? or overcharge rail guns?
The Poseidon Class Carrier is one of the few ships that will not have Fighter Movement. She is equipped with 6 heavy railgun turrets, located on the bottom top deck, 6 long range missile tubes, and 24 flack cannons. As for abilities... only one has been decided on. In the center of the ship, she has a Mass Acceleration Cannon. It is going to collect Asgard plasma energy and then lobs it at the enemy. Think of it as a mobile Novalith with about half the damage, but can also attack ships and structures... but be careful, the cannon takes awhile to recharge.

Mass Acceleration Cannon is a Generic term. It is also called a Mass Driver, and rail gun. A true railgun that is.
Actually a mass driver is not always a rail gun. It can be a rail gun or a coil gun(also know as a gauss gun). Believe it or not there is a huge different propulsion concept between those two. A gauss gun use electromagnetic force and the rail gun use the homopolar electric motor concept which mean that there is a absence of polarity change. Google it.
