Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. One of the more recent additions to the Star Wars universe, the Raider class Corvette is a light escort ship produced by Kuat Drive Yards. A versatile warship, the Raider was mainly used to protect larger Imperial capitalships from attack by smaller vessels, from Starfighters to other Corvettes. Ironically this meant its main competition was another Kuat Drive Yards vessel, the Lancer Frigate. Where as the Lancer was larger and more specialized however, the Raider was more modern and could operate with a fraction of the crew. It also fit in better with recent Imperial aesthetics thanks to it sharing the same designer of the Imperial Star Destroyer, Lira Wessex. The ship was not initially a success however due to the Empire's slowness to adapt to Rebel antifighter tactics, and thus only a limited number were built by the Battle of Endor.
In game the Raider will become the antifighter frigate for the Imperial Warlords. The Galactic Empire will continue to use the Lancer Frigate. Because the Warlords have greater manpower (and fleet supply) restrictions, this ship's strengths fit them better. I hope this will also please those of you who asked for unique ships for the Empire and Warlords. :-D
