From the makers of Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War, Ascendancy is a Star Wars mod set after the Battle of Endor in the Star Wars Galaxy. Fight for galactic ascendancy as multiple factions from this period in Star Wars history.
I've been playing around with shaders a bit lately, so here's the outcome of that so far. They're blue, and are more based on the direction that the ship was hit from. The blue is obvious here, but the directionality isn't so much since this MC80B was getting pretty heavily focused. Should still give you some idea of what it looks like.
We're by far not the first people to do this, and I'm still not super happy with it, so we'll probably be tweaking it as we go forward.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Star Wars shields have a more greenish color? I think I saw that in Battlefront 2 years ago.
Pretty much always blue in the times they ever bother to actually show them. Droidekas and that giant Gungan thing on Naboo were blue, everything in EaW/FoC was blue. When they're not blue they're usually white.
Battlefront 2 does not have a greenish-colored shield either. I wonder what you mistook for it though.
No no, he's correct, BF2 did have a green color for shields, just did a bombing run on a droid capital ship, it was green
Some things did have a green shield like in Commando they had green shields for certain gun emplacements but most ships especially Republic was blue for everything it has to do with the manuafacture and crystals used.
Yea I know what he's talking about too. It's kind of a tealish green. Probably one of those things I'd leave up to interpretation though.
What version have you got of Battlefront II? If I'm right then, the 1.3 patch replaces the shieldings with a different texture. Which might be why I haven't noticed that.
I'm not too sure.. It's fairly modded and I believe I have it patched up to date too.
The ship textures the planet in the background corey this looks sick bro! Even if you're not happy with the shielding this kicks so much bantha!
If you had asked we could have provided you with this type of shielding a year ago. Directional shielding has been a thing passed around on the soase forums for 2 or 3 years now. :)
Yeah, thanks. I know it's been around, I just felt like playing with shaders a bit and this seemed like the best place to start. If it ends up blowing up in my face, or we're ultimately not happy with the results my backup plan was to ask for the existing ones.
I know you've had some bad blood with the community your team is moving from, but let me assure you the SoaSE modding community is incredibly tight knit and we share information and resources quite a bit. Your team is more than welcome to be part of that. Hell, we don't even DDOS each other, lol.
