Taken from Star Trek.com, to give you a more complete idea of his contributions:

"Hutzel served as visual effects coordinator and supervisor on the first five seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation and the entire run of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He introduced many technical innovations to Star Trek's visual effects, Hutzel helped create the USS Defiant, and supervised visual effects in the fan-favorite "Trials and Tribble-ations," blending the cast of Deep Space Nine into scenes from Star Trek: The Original Series. Hutzel was also widely recognized by Star Trek fans for his award-winning visual effects on numerous other series, including Battlestar Galactica, Caprica and Defiance. Additionally, he rendered covers for several non-fiction Trek books and, with Terry J. Erdmann and Paula M. Block, co-wrote The Magic of Tribbles: The Making of Star Trek Deep Space Nine -- Trials and Tribbles-ations."

In other words, he was a pretty important guy.

Oh wow this is like a Stargazer Refit, with the Excelsior design elements instead of the Constitution.
I love it, will this be an upgrade for the Stargazer? Or a separate class entirely?

Seperate and you can get it through a special shipyard type

May his soul find peace hopefully at the side of the Lord.

And did you say something about a "special shipyard"? I'm wondering what else will come from that yard...could that be the mysterious origin of the Constition refit as well?

A ship yard you build or capture?

I captured the outdated shipyard with the Hutzel in dock, but it would only allow me to build the Soyuz, and Saratoga.

The Constellation-class was always one of my favorites. Nice to see a similar ship making an appearance.

Never heard of that class, but looks not bad. Has it 4 nacelles like the constellation class or just 3? On the render it is hard to recognise, there it seems to have only 3.

3 nacelles. It is also a canon design...seen in the deep backgrounds of DS9.

AFAIK it doesn't actually appear onscreen. Or at least it hasn't been identified in any scene.

I think the assumption is that it's there, it's just never been identified.

If I'm not mistaken, all the fleet scenes after Favor The Bold were CGI. So it would have to have appeared in the first 5 episodes of season 6.

The only scenes it could have appeared in were the ones at the beginning of A Time to Stand and a few establishing shots of Starbase 375.

The first one has been studied pretty extensively and it's almost certainly not there. The shots around 375 are a fair bit clearer, and the ships there are recognizable classes.

The Hutzel/Trident class will be making an appearance to The Final Frontier as a tribute to the late visual effects artist.
