Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
I felt the last set of screenshots didn't reflect the quality of the model, I didn't have my graphic settings right and there were some shadow artifacts. I have taken some new shots for you to enjoy. Hopefully this will satisfy you all this time :)
Model by the amazing WileyCoyote Michaelwileyart.com
Now, this is the quality we are all used to :) Thanks for taking the time to make some new shots. Cheers
No problem :) it didnt help i made the previous batch at 2:00AM ;P
Considering who made these models I wouldn't expect anything less than top quality.
Two thumbs up from me for definite.
Captain Shack why no early game play? I know you are lurking out there.
hahah. Soon! He's waiting for the Dominion to be close to playable.
To boldly go...
Yes, much better than the old screenshots! These are truly majestic shots of the Sovereign, the most kickass ship in Star Trek canon!
The Vesta class comes in a cool second, but that's Beta canon.
Made to lag on my i7 even more :-D
smaller poly count, only 2 textures instead of five. Made to lag your i7 less.
MIND................BLOWN
It was joke
still good to hear about optimalization, we will all surely appreciate that, ancient engine can sometime be stubborn and when he decide to lag, no graphic settings or modern hardware will help
Now that is a beautiful ship, as i said before its sad that it only featured in 3 films, The sovereign deserved to be in more or feature in a TV series.
Always thought the Sovereign Class was a natural evolution of the Constitution
The sovereign class was put forward some time after the success of the Galaxy. Its goal was to create a ship that could do everything a Galaxy class could but required fewer resources to build and maintain. To do this the Starfleet Corps of Engineers turned to an older design that functioned well for its time, the Constitution. So essentially your spot on.
The Devs of Star Trek Online should take it as a good Example. I like this here more than the STO Version!
The problem with STO is a lot of their textures are years outdated, and a major problem with the Intrepid, is the shape is slightly off, which to me is very noticeable, and they have random parts where there are splits in the hull where it isn't supposed to be, Though their Sovereign model is good, it does need some work, and the Armada 3 team has done an amazing job in making the models the right shapes :)
We do our best to not only please casual gamers, but the fans as well.
And we love you for it.
