Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
Enjoy!
I want it.
"By god that's a big ship."
"Not so big as her Captain i think"
The sad thing is that the USS Vengeance from into darkness is bigger which comes to show how inaccurate the ship sizes are in the JJ verse.
"Young heads, new ideas"
although personal i don't like JJs version of trek
I'm not a defender of the new movies, BUT, i have a notion on that... We assume that Starfleet producing larger ships is a sign of technological advancement, but in the real world, that's not how it works. The US Navy, as it's tech advances produces SMALLER ships, the reason behind this it that the more advanced the tech gets the smaller and more powerful it becomes, it also make sense, that a smaller ship needs a smaller crew, witch means that the same amount of it takes for one massive ship can be divided into smaller ships of each individually as powerful as the larger, less advanced ship. The reason that ships like the Galaxy class are in use may not be that they NEED to be that large in order to function, but that the Federation at that time is so resource wealthy, and overconfident of their defensive power, that they see no reason NOT to make their ships the size of small cities.
In the Abramsverse, the larger ships may in fact be a sign of less advanced tech, ships have to be massive in order to get the same performance of their Prime Universe counterparts, do to some crucial technological advancement that DIDN'T happen in their timeline, or that, as some beta canon info suggests, that Starfleet used sensor data from the Narada, and produced more advanced ships then it should have had at this time, but couldn't scale the machinery down to a reasonable size.
but the admiral said the Vengeance was the most advanced ship in starfleet and the only reason why the enterprise wasn't destroyed was because of scotty disabling the weapons temporarily and the enterprise shooting the torpedoes given to them by the admiral.
Same tech, but the ship design (what little sense it makes) might be telling. The engineering section is MUCH bigger that the Enterprise, which might mean that they have a scaled up "gas guzzler" version of the Enterprise reactor, generating more power by burning thru ridiculous amounts of antimatter to power the weapons system. Just more power for bigger, better, and more numerous weapons. The ships capabilities like "advanced warp" might be just be a Tim Taylor "more power" solution, which is in keeping with military solutions to engineering problems, rather than a Starfleet solution which would be to tech-tech a better, more efficient system, which would work better, and be more efficent in the long run, but require much more time to get up and running, in short, the Vengeance is a monument to pure brute strength, while the Enterprise is all about being a jack of all trades, not a master combat ship.
Stop teasing! Wait, what am I saying, MORE TEASING PLEASE!!!

Ohhh... (Awkward silence).
Moist.
*needs pants*
Take mine! *unzipping sound*
*stops Orion and hands trekie a new pair of pants* Orion if you revealed your AFT the whole world would disintegrate just like how if an Olympian showed a human their true form they would die.
You are truly the Guardian of the AFT.
*grabs a sword and lighting hits it when I thrust it into the air* I HAVE THE POWER!
Percy Jackson reference
*facepalm* no, it is he-man
yeah but i ment the olympian thing
Oh then yes.
Now I'm never going to pick the Polaris
Just wait til you see her from her other angles! :D
Love it
Aw, I like the original Excalibur better.
So do I kinda. The texture on the new one is a little too white, imho.
It's not quite done yet. Wait till it's in-game with lighting, shadowing, etc.
Well that is what I'm patiently trying to do. :D
Well done, mate(s). I like the design, has a bit from the Sovereign class and a bit new. Besides it reminds me of a ship from STO, but I'm not sure how they call this class because I not playing this game. If I'm correct it is the Poseidon class or similar, don't know yet, an admiralty tier 6 ship.
It is the excaliber.
And wait til you see how detailed her AFT is!
> it reminds me of a ship from STO
*dies a little inside.
That's what I meant three posts above and now I know the name, it is the Presidio class which looks very very similar, especially the warp nacelles. :)
She is very sexy...can't wait much longer with all this tasty stuff
i will build all of them
This is sexcellent.
It should imho have a little Sovie to it. Just to show some lineage. But I can see what some are referring to. The Excalibur has been around for a very very long time. People undoubtedly are accustomed to the old design and old skin. But I love the remake. No one has tackled the Excalibur "reskinning" in a very long time. It's needed an upgrade for ages to be on par with everything else. Now that the "Excalibur" game is no longer using the Excalibur as its main flagship; it could of been lost in time so great job for bringing it back to life.
I'm loving the new upgrades. This patch will fix up a lot of ships that have needed new textures.
Thank again
;-)
Adam
Love the work you all do but the klingon factions ships needs reskinning. But I love all the other fractions and tend to lose some games just because I spend the whole time looking at that Aft :-p looking forward to the update and keep on going :-D
Yeah the scout could be made more sexy looking and it needs a better AFT.
wait a minute *{HEROIC}Hunter.EXE is processing* HEY! You modified my line!
Was this ever completed and released within the new update?
I was also hoping to see the new Excalibur, but...
Did I accidentally miss something or was it being constructed for this release. I may have missed a post or something, I try to keep up and current.
The photos seemed quite intriguing. Not that I'm complaining if it didn't make the cut, just wondering if I overlooked something.
