Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
The aftermath of battle
So there is actually going to be debris like that ... not bad.
(buried)
yes, but peaces are too big, sometimes ships just blow up
yes and game mechanics in sins allows for two meshes for debris.. and they dont last long.. also look up ur trek history of the debris field at wolf 359.. did all the ships blow up??? NO. take the rough with the smoothe a combination of established cannon vs limitations of the game engine itself .
A ship graveyard as it should be.
Some random junk you can just breeze by without a second thought but seeing derelicts and broken husks drift by is something else entirely.
I did not said it is bad, I said only my opinion - 1 debris like this one, and 2nd mesh with very small peaces
well it could be worse... it could be the debris field around vulcan in the 2009 trek fiasco .. plus the 2 meshes in game spawn simultaniusly with physics attached for how they spiral away
a debris field around a planet that was sucked into a black hole? seems legit.
How long does the debris field last anyway?
A couple of minutes although not totally sure
All that down voting seems a little unnecessary. After all he was only sharing his opinion. I'm sure Genezis0 wasn't aware that the game limits us to only two pieces of mesh for destroyed ships. Of course, were we not to have these limitations we'd love to do a debris of dozens of small parts but unfortunately we can't.
Max has taken a great deal of inspiration from the battle at Wolf359, from several DS9 episodes and of course from an older but very enjoyable game, Star Wars: Empire At War, that show ships partially destroyed and dead in space. You've even seen a particular image that attempts to recreate the damage to Voyager in (in my opinion) some of its best episodes.
In summary, we'd love to be able to do a totally torn apart ship now and then, but with the limitations sins places on us Max is doing a wonderful job of increasing immersion.
I am actually honored, I never had so many minuses
great
And, you are right that I did not know there can be just 2 meshes at once
UPVOTE HIM! HE LIKES THE DOWNVOTES
I was under the impression that when a ship was damaged enough, the warp core breach was the excuse for how most ships would disintegrate completely.
not all ships have a warp core breach, look at the battle of wolf 359
And don't forget the 2nd Battle of Chin'Toka in "The Changing Face of Evil".
that battle actualy gave me allot of inspiration ;)
would be a cool planet type, like an asteroid field :P
Wolf 359 much :)
that sir is a good idea
indeed that is something you will see ;)
Agreed !

It's...it's beautiful...
Hello, I am writing to you from Ukraine. I have long been watching your work and I must say that it is just awesome! Keep up the good work!
I would like to offer you something to think about ... I've seen screenshots of the broken ship federation and thought to offer you the following ... tell me is it possible to do so would have remained after the destruction of the ship wreck? is what I'm trying to explain that it would be cool to do so would wreckage was as mine, through which also had to be avoided, except that the icon does not do as well as mine say in wrecks or tell them to call the cemetery of ships ...
Wolf 359....2!!!!
Resistance was......ill advised.
