They had a similar ability in Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Ops. I once sent a fleet of sixteen of them to attack an undefended enemy mining outpost. Their special ability was set to autocast by default. On the way to their destination they came across a Negh'Var battleship and all sixteen automatically rammed it. The Negh'Var was destroyed but at the cost of sixteen ships, and I was left without a raiding fleet until I could gather the resources to build more.

I'd prefer a less wasteful special ability. Maybe a variant of the polaron torpedo? We know these ships use them, after all.
