How will the cardassians be balanced? From what I understand they were technologically inferior to the federation but had a large flee.

There is not information suggesting that. The only thing that was proven in tng was that the galor class was notably inferior to a galaxy class. And as for fleet size, the cardassians didn't have enough warships for their borders or to fight the klingons and became a third rate power in DS9

Yeah but bear in mind the cardassian empire had just had its goverment overthrown, they had ongoing problems with the marquis(sp). They werent expecting or prepared for an invasion by klingons. Also its said that after sisko warned them that they started putting up stiffer resistance. The klingons I believe never got past the outer colonies. So it wasnt that they didnt have a large fleet they were just caught of guard. Also they really became a third rate power with dominion as they tended to through the cardassians in first in battles

Some of the Breen's ships were believed to be fitted with cloaking devices.

It's entirely possible that the ships that attacked Earth were fitted with cloaking devices.

Also keep in mind that the Cardassians were taken completely surprise by the Klingons, who devoted more than a third of their entire military to the invasion. Garak's warning to Gul Dukat gave the Cardassians less than an hour to prepare a defense.

The Cardassians' defenses and outer colonies were smashed and it was only by the time the Klingons were deep in Cardassian territory that they started meeting any real resistance. The Cardassian Union had already been through a period of political turmoil and a costly campaign against the Maquis. The Klingon invasion brought the Cardassian economy to its knees and badly depleted its military power.

Fantastic work, I've done some lower poly models of the Cardassians for Star Trek Armada 2, but your textures and models blow mine out of the water.

I'm a huge fan of the Cardassians so it's great to see you're adding them in.

Description

The Janissary is the Cardassian colonizing capital ship and is the first capital ship you can get as the faction, developed around the time of the galor class, the Janissary has roughly the same amount of weapons with a slightly lower output in damage due to its smaller sized warp core, this is due to the large space dedicated to troops and colonization equipment.
