Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
The Vor'cha battlecruiser is the primary battleship of the Klingon Defence Force. Based on classic Klingon cruiser design principles with a number of unique modern refinements, the Vor'cha entered service in the early 2360s and has since served with honour and deadly distinction, making these potent warships highly desirable and prestigious posts for Klingon commanders.
The Vor'cha is a clear evolution of the design of its older brother, the Deathrite cruiser. Far from a lumbering capital ship, the Vor'cha is surprisingly fast and nimble. Its powerful impulse engines propel it head-first into battle at close-range, where it can easily outmanoeuvre its enemies and prepare for another crippling attack run as they struggle to mount a defence.
In typical Klingon fashion the Vor'cha is a heavily armed and devastating battlecruiser. Disruptor emitters and pulse cannons line its hull, with powerful photon torpedo launchers both fore and aft completing the picture. Add to that the innate durability of Klingon warship design, and it is easy to see why the Vor'cha now serves as the strong backbone of the Klingon fleet, providing heavy fire support for the Birds of Prey and the KDF's lighter cruisers.
With the Vor'cha establishing itself as a powerful force in the fleet, it is not uncommon for these impressive warships to serve as the personal flagships for Klingon nobles, the Patriarchs of Great Houses, members of the High Council and even the Chancellor himself. Considering the impact on the Klingon fleet it has already had, it is not unreasonable to assume that the Vor'cha will be to the 24th Century what the K'tinga was to the 23rd - not merely a ship, but also an enduring symbol of Klingon might and prowess.
Glory unto You, and Your House...
For all the great work you've all done for the Empire!
(And the other races, but most importantly the Klingon Empire)
