While the TEC, Advent and Vasari are embroiled in their own struggles for survival a new threat has emerged, intent on spreading it's infectious plague throughout the universe. The sickening ruthlessness in which entire populations are infected or destroyed is alarming to the TEC, Advent and Vasari alike. If the Plague wasn't enough they were immediately followed yet another race calling themselves the Nephilim. The initial encounter with the "Nephilim" held promise they would unite in defeating the Plague. However, Initial attempts at diplomacy have failed as the Nephilim seem single purposed in their pursuit of the Plague.
I'm working on a concept for Sins of the Fallen that will add Moons to all Home planets and randomly to some neutral planets that can be upgraded into Moon Bases with Star Base type upgrades.
This video demonstrates the proof of concept with this approach.
I hope to have the various moon bases and associated upgrades finished by the next release which will also hopefully include Hypercorps.
nice idea also can you make the moons orbit the planits
Structures that orbit planets is impossible unfortunately... Unless you are Ironclad and can modify the source engine.
what about treating the moon base like the vassari star base cus the Vassari starbase can move would that work?
I have considered allowing this so Moons could be moved to a more tactical location prior to deploying. I can suspend disbelief long enough for that to happen. However, having moving moons with orbital based weapons would look really odd as it chases ships around the gravity well :P I'm not sure I could suspend disbelief as much watching that occur.
"Luna Moon" isn't that a tautology or something? Luna is Latin for Moon, isn't it?
Sahara Desert, anyone...?
Love the concept, though :-D
I like it, Very interesting! 8)
Will the existing Moon base allow to have standard Star Base? (as the quantity of StarBase entities is limited per planet)
And, as I suppose, it's also possible to get covering Moon base mesh differ from the moon mesh itself, yes?
A starbase is a starbase. If the planet well only allows one starbase then the moonbase counts against it. I wish it was by starbase type and race versus just starbase/race.
Yes, the moon base mesh can differ from the moon mesh itself. Upgrades to a moon could also change the mesh as it follows the same mechanics of existing starbases.
will the moon base class TAG along with the lesser starbases (i mean... will be possible to choose which one to deploy/build? as in dolinick stargate mods where you choose from two starbase and orbital city types?)?
sorry i've read now... that... we can choose to make moons as starbases... so the common starbases are still present right?
Moons.. Totally awesome.
You sound like Vin Diesel :D
