We have made a new Enemy Territory modification called silEnT. Our goals with the mod are high quality, high performance and high configurability for both, the server and the client side.

Some of the features we have made:

  • Fixed many small bugs that effected to the gameplay. These include fixing the sniper zoom exploit and pmove_fixed bug.
  • We made efforts to simplify and optimise bullet traces and we have managed to make the traces both reliable and the hitboxes to follow the player animations.
  • We added most feature rich player database and offline player handling that we know exists.
  • We added new weapons PPSh and Tripmines with carefull consideration that they will not alter the game flow that the Enemy Territory is known of. Admins can also easily configure these weapons for their servers.
  • We made lots of code optimisations in many places.
  • We rewrote big part of the data transmissions between the server and client and this way gained big performance improvement in bandwidth usage and also the game runs more smoothly.
  • We made easy 4 step quick install for admins.
  • We removed many exploitable cvars including cg_noDamageKick.
  • We made the mod very small in download size.

In short, the mod is feature rich high quality Enemy Territory game. Admins can configure their servers to use only original Enemy Territory weapons or select the new weapons by their own choices.
The feature rich player database allows easy way to search and handle even offline players.
We improved the game performance in most areas including bandwidth and CPU usage.
We made easy 4 step installation for the server admins. Small download size ensures that nobody gets tired while downloading the mod from your server.

Added: !subnetban command can now cut the IP inside the octet with 'x'. For example, "!subnetban 12x" will ban IP adresses 12x.xxx.xxx.xxx.

Added: Lua callback et_ClientBinary( client, checksum ) which passes the checksums of client binaries to the Lua script.

Reworked: When g_clientBinaries flag 4 is set, and the binary is a already known cheat binary, it is clearly reported instead of the usual unknown client binary.
Reworked: match_warmupDamage, if set to 2 it is effective also when FF is disabled.
Fixed: Sometimes, the information of the person who muted was not displayed.
Fixed: Unique silEnT GUIDs required between connected players. This caused little confusion when banning.
Fixed: g_antiwarp from the ETPub repository.
Fixed: g_dyno chaining blast radious fix from crapshoot.
Fixed: userxdb.db was slowly filling with records that were not used or needed.
Fixed: Lua API function et.G_EntitiesFree.
Fixed: Full mod URL shown in the serverinfo menu.
Fixed: Some alignment issues with the smaller score board.
Fixed: Revive icons are shown again.
Fixed: With forcecvar and sv_cvar, the existing limits are checked and updated if the cvar already exists in the limits. Instead of just adding the same cvar at the end of the config strings.
Fixed: Clients protected against overflowing sv_cvar and forcecvar config strings.
Fixed: Custom commands can now have quotes. This is usefull if the command is then forwarded to a new tokenizer. For example, Lua scripts can access arguments correctly.
Fixed: Rcon can now call custom commands as well. Before, the command line was truncated when doing shortcut replacement for the console.
Fixed: Class stealing no longer kicks old players out from their classes if the class is full. The stealing is prevented.
Fixed: Server crash when player was muted through rcon.
Fixed: !finger command output is now easier to read if the entity who muted a player is player himself even if the player would have named himself as silEnT or Console.
Fixed: weapon pickup bugs
Fixed: knife bug when throwing knives are disabled by g_throwableKnives cvar.
Fixed: no progress indicator during disarming dyna after class steal

PunkBuster always seems broken with this, and ETKEYS.ORG doesn't work and evenbalance.com is... umm, in Japanese or something?

Anyway, looks good but unplayable as I get kicked instantly! Any tips?

U don't need etkey. silEnT mod has in build mod based key for xp saving and other uses.

Punkbuster is not even supported by EB anymore, so i suggest you disable PB on your server.
