This is amazing! This is amazing! I know I said this is amazing twice but this is amazing! Do we AMD/ATI cards users still need to disable AI Catalyst for the mod to work properly? I can not wait to try this out soon :)

CatAI needs to be turned off. If you can't turn it off through the control panel, you can either use a third-party program like ATI Tray Tools or rename "Doom3.exe" to something like "Doom 3.exe" (note the space).

Let me know if either of these things help.

thanks buddy
the problem is that new catalyst driver dont have the option to disable the CatAI
and i cant use ati tray tool cuz it totally messes with my system i dont know why ! my pc goes unstable even if i just instal that thing and goes BSOD occasionally
i changed the DOOM3 to DOOM 3 but, since i'm using the steam version
i cant run the game
any other advise ?
any other way to disable CatAI?
i also tried to close CCC.exe through task manager but it didn't solve the issue
thanks anyway for answering

I don't have the steam version so I can't say for sure but try downloading the 1.3.1 patch ( Ftp.idsoftware.com ), take the exe from that (the installer can be opened with 7-zip - 7-zip.org), rename it, and stick it in your Doom 3 dir. Id games don't need to be "installed" to run so, my guess is, if you use the original exe it should run without steam.

well i definitely run the original.exe . steam downloads the patches automatically so i have 1.3.1
also tried ati tray tool but it doesnt have the option to disable the CATAI , I also tried radeonpro to disable it but found no option :((
all i can do now is to fall back to former radeon drivers that i realy dont want to do bcuz doom isnt the only game i play
isnt there really any other way?
im really unlucky with mods believe me

wow I finally made it
heres what AMD users should do to make it work
go to
C:\Users\"your name"\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE
open profile
edit this line
Property name="CatalystAI" value="Enable" />
to this
Property name="CatalystAI" value="Disable" />
thats over save and quit

and about the mod , its really great ! HDR ,bloom and soft shadows are nice, but soft shadows will seriously kill the performance so i turned it off.
thanks sikkpin for your great job

I also have steam and AMD and the latest driver has CatalystAI turned off properly (says so in the xml) but it doesn't work. Crashes on load of the game.

Hello, thanks for just fantastic mod, I love it very much!
But... Why SSAO not works correctly with FSAA 16x? I can clearly see black lines on the floor, walls... With FSAA 8x all is just fine, but is doesn't give that smooth image as 16x. And Lens Flare, Sun Shafts - I guess it didn't work? At least I can't see the changes, but framerate is going down :) And - what is SSIL?

Any way to remove textures/shaders shimmering around the lines of edges contact?

In some areas it can be very distracting

Fantastic work, it's like a new game! Thanks a lot!

Just one problem: Crosshair seems to be inaccurate. Pistol bullets hits a little lower right off the crosshair target, but only if I set the "static" crosshair in the options menu. If I use the "precise" crosshair, everything is fine (but I don't like this kind of precise crosshair).

PD: Sorry for my poor english, I'm from Spain.

I changed all weapons to fire their projectiles from the barrel as opposed to the center of the view. Some weapons already had this set, like the rocket launcher, but most others didn't. To change this back, open the weapons respective def file (for instance: "weapon_pistol.def") and look for this: "launchFromBarrel" and set it to "0". The def files are located in the "def" folder in the "pak_modfiles.pk4" file.

Ei, thanks for the answer. I'm not sure if I understand the difference between fire from the barrel and fire from the center of the view. I thought all projectiles should be fired from the barrel, but as I understand with your answer, there's no possiblity to fire from the barrel and at the same time hitting where the crosshair is aiming. I'll look in that "weapon_pistol.def" file and try what you suggest.

Thanks a lot for your help and for the amazing work on this mod. I've tried yours and the Perfected Doom (which use a lot from yours), and the result is superb.

Did every possible "fix" I can find. I think its official to say, this mod DOES NOT work with ATI/AMD cards or at least not with any recent drivers.

Greetings Sikkpin... Unfortunately I can't make it to work. Enabling most of the options make things go crazy: HDR = white screen, Motion Blur = blue and cyan texture effects when it comes into play, the other options make the FOV change dramatically and make everything stretched and overlapped.
My card is a Radeon 5870; using latest driver (11.7). Same things happen with or without Catalyst A.I. enabled. Playing the Steam version.
Could it be since I'm trying to play with a non-standard resolution (1920x1080)?

Any clues? Thank you very much for your time...

OK... Solved forcibly disabling the Catalyst AI in the xml profile file... Maybe I didn't previously modify that file in the right way. Thanks.
