My fav reason to play as the Borg - I get to assimilate and play with cool ships like the son'a battleship.
The next update will allow a lot for control with NPC players. Board and control their star base will stop the raids against you. Research diplomacy with that race and gain the ability to send them to attack for you, as long as you control the star base.
The Borg will be able to board and control the star base to stop the raids, but will not have access to the diplomacy research.
This should introduce an entirely new dynamic to the game.
War by proxy, now that sounds like fun.
