Room Escape is a mod for Half-Life 2 EP2. The game consists of about 8 different themed rooms and the point is to escape from them. There are logic puzzles, obstacles, hidden item puzzles and more. This is still played FPS style and could be considered an action-puzzler. This mod does not have one definite theme, but each room has its own style, or theme. Production has gone quite a ways since the mod has started, and updates will be released every once and a while.

This mod will require Half Life 2 Episode Two to play.

Hello everybody, this is Master of Hiddenry here just to bring some news. Although we haven't updated in over a year, we are still working to get this mod released.

I'll start off with the news:

Explorer7, who is the founder and leader of the mod, will be stepping down indefinitely for academic reasons, and I will be taking his place for the time being. For the most part I will still be concentrating on the level design, with the added responsibility of organizing the team and solidifying ideas, and perhaps some sound work. On a similar note, Joe Rogers, one of our level designers, has been away from modding recently because of employment, but will return in about a month.

We finally have a working base mod to use at the moment thanks to our programmer Booers, who also has sorted out a number of bugs. However, there is much more to be done, such as a code-based inventory system, which is proving to be tricky. If anyone could help create and implement an inventory system, feel free to send a PM or leave a comment about it.

And with that, I'll leave you all with a screenshot of the near complete version of the warehouse level that we showed a while back. Puzzles are fully implemented and only minor things have to be adjusted. That's about it for now. We will keep you updated as more news happens.

Although you've probably been suggested this, why not encode each of the inventory items as a weapon? Then, they integrate with the weapon switching system already in place.

We did consider that route, and for a few items (fire extenguisher) we may continue to develop from that mindset. But we chose against it because we thought it would be difficult to remove specific weapons from the player. An inventory is easy to remove from and add to. Plus, making world models and player models for items that do not have a weapon-centric purpose would be a hassle IMO.

Hey. I proposed to do some music a long time ago under "CanadianMoose", but never really got more than one track. I've got a few new ones up on my Soundcloud page, I'd appreciate it if you would take a look :)

No, it isn't! Trust me.. Right now I'm redoing almost all the models with new textures and so. They looked really poor, now I have much more experience than when I began working.
