Hi! Thx for the update! Trying it right now, feels good. Just one question, the troop viewer is no longer a thing right? Thanks a lot for the effort.

Yeah no troop viewer on this one, the troops are almost the same structure as gekokujo though, so infantry (bayonet/spear) or skirmishers (better guns more accurate)

Hi
Thanks! I really appreciate the work you are still doing to make this mod alive & better.
As i mentioned before in my comments ; i hope you add GATLING gun , Henry Rifle 1860(& Winchester carbine), colt rifle 1855(or some new revolvers) and some other weapons which are already in the mod resources folder but they are unavailable in game.
Gatling gun is one the best things ever you can add to this mod it's really make it great also artillery.

Is it possible to change the animation of hits (strikes), since they are very, very bad? Worse than Crusade Against Jihad and 1460 mods...

Mediafire.com Download this, make a backup of "actions.txt" and then replace it with this one. It will make the animations like in Gekokujo/Native.

Thanks a lot! Everything works. Haven't seen any errors yet.

P.S. Please tell me, did you compare the performance characteristics of firearms in the literature, or in your game opinion?

I based the performance very roughly based on literature. All damages in the game are caliber in inches plus the weight of the bullet in real life. The accuracy was mostly just decided by my opinion. For example the Spencer does more damage than the Chassepot because despite being lower velocity it has a heavier and wider diameter bullet. But I gave it lower accuracy because it had poor velocity and the Chassepot was reputed to have good accuracy. The in game velocities are based on real figures.

Played the older Rising Sun from an upload on the steam workshop, I thought it was a blast despite many of the bugs, the music was great, and I loved destroying the enemies with the OP rolling block rifle. It was good fortune that I found this was updated when attempting to look up a perhaps more up to date version of the mod.
From playing it, although it feels much more stable and certainly more bug free, I feel as though it's DNA is much closer to Gekokujo then the previous version of the mod. For me I see this in two things specifically, although I've no doubt there's much much more. I feel it in the music and the lack of snow. I thought the music was great in the previous version, so much so I copy and pasted the music and music file into the current version. Frankly, not sure if it's even working 100% as intended, but I hope in any updates to Rising Sun II we see a return to the old music.
Speaking of return, I for one liked the snow everywhere from the previous version. I saw some people complaining about it, and I know it probably doesn't rightly make sense having it year around, but it was a cool aesthetic that I enjoyed, and felt it more rightly distinguished itself from Gekokujo.
In the future, I hope we see a bit more uniqueness from the companions, I don't think we got any renames even from the original mod this is based off of, but it's not too big a deal considering they serve their purpose from a gameplay perspective. But yeah, I think this new version is great, although I do miss the pinpoint accuracy on the rolling block I had in the previous version, gotta take what you can get out here shooting on horseback.

Some initial feedback.

Reloading firearms takes too long, follow-up shots for multi-shot guns are way too slow, for rifles there is no passive animation holding it correctly.

In Custom Battles, units are naked.

All the new items in the mod should be added to the cheatmenu for ease of access and testing.

Edo Government should have separate troops than the Tokugawa Shogunate, but I'm sure you knew that already.

I look forward to future updates.

I played the game for the past few weeks on different factions and here are some things that I found that might need some fixings (take it with a grain of salt if you may, this may be a suggestion). First is the skirmishers. Although it is stated that skirmishers are meant to actually possess better skills at firing and guns, I found that only certain factions have skirmishers with better guns while some like for example Edo Government's skirmishers are using what seems to be outdated Tanegashima with slow loading process which at first I assumed maybe certain factions are just having outdated use of firearms but I found it to be quite there for a few other factions. Although in all fairness it is very possible that the gun that is meant to be "better" for the skirmishers are the high-damage guns, I kinda felt a bit disappointed to see it even when having elite skirmishers that are still armed with it. Second is that I found many guns are very slow in reloading even for revolvers which I found to be annoying and at the same time wondering why they are being done like that. Third is the Samurai gunners in which although I understand that some samurais are still retaining the old usage of outdated guns and armor, I am still willing to think that many of them would adopt the use of better guns as clearly I don't see them using any of the modern and better guns other than outdated guns that have higher damages. Other than that it is a good game although I believed some of these problems that I've found may lead up to how the historical references wrote them to be like that (like how some factions are still using outdated guns, etc). Overall, keep the good work there mate, we will need more mods like this in the future for Warband.

Most of the factions are unbalanced, the strongest have modern equipment whereas the weak have all traditional like Tsu domain I based it on what I could find about the individual domain's militaries some I couldn't find any significant modernized force for. The Skirmishers are mainly for skill not equipment, skirmishers have guns only and "infantry" have bayonets or spears, but less gun skill and usually inferior weapons to skirmishers. The revolvers reload slow because they are muzzle loading cap and ball revolvers which can take over 1 minute to reload quickly in real life. The Lefaucheux and Smith and Wesson are cartridge revolvers so they reload faster. Also some Samurai gunners do use modern guns like Satsuma, Tosa and Nagaoka etc. All in all the mod is very rough around the edges, but glad you like it.

I have an idea and a suggestion

Idea: Add a daisho weapon with katana and wakizashi combined that can be swapped with X so that we have more slots while allowing samurai to look like samurai, but keep the singular swords ingame

Suggestion: Less sengoku armor would be good, those full armor suits were very uncommon during the Bakumatsu's battles, maybe restrict it to hatamoto troops and replace the other samurai tiers' armor with no or light armor, basically the samurai robes with some variants with breastplates, all of them with the same or similar armor values as the proper armor sets in game right now

So, here is my opinion.
I like it overall, especially the uniforms and weapons, but..

1. Some troops have atrocious firearm skills. I only checked Choshu troops. Even the elite ones have misplaced points.
Eg. they ave high skill in archery but low in rifles/pistols.

2. Also, why are some repeating rifles need pistol skills? I understand the caliber reason but these 2 need different ways to aim and hold correctly.

3. Revolvers are very slow, i'm not talking about the reload, that is okay for period era revolvers. Im talking about the speed between 2 shots. It feels like it should be double the current one.
