Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Its not a tank, its an artillery vehicle. Its has weak armor, but great range and good firepower.

its an alternative for the mole mine layer because the Mole needs to be protected because of its low speed.

Does it have to deploy?
(Personally, I don't think so.)
Uh, does it fire that way or the barrel goes up?

Thanks,
Flot

CommanderJRB
CommanderJRB - - 754 comments

No, it doesn't have to deploy (if it did you'd see stablisers or recoil spades, which are not there), and yes, it does elevate the barrel to fire, just like any and every other self-propelled artillery piece ever made. The arms at the base of the barrel are a travelling lock only, common on SPHs, and do not hold it in place permanently, being released to fire.

No, that's just the European style apparently. =P

However, you do have a small MG to peck away at the infantry. =)

I think the word you're looking for is 'radio'; radar antennae are almost always dish- or panel-shaped in order to collect the return signal. These radio antennae are primarily there for cosmetic reasons, and appear on multiple ECA units.

MRSI (Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact) special ability? Would make for great tank column killing.

No, you're thinking of the PzH 2000. While this isn't it, the PzH 2000 will actually also be in the mod, for the German Mechanised Assault General, Wolfgang.

It is there. The angle makes it difficult to see, but it's on the roof of the vehicle directly to the right of the top hatch.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
CommanderJRB

It's not a superweapon, it's a self-propelled howitzer, just a large one. Expect it to be more akin to the Nuke Cannon than anything else, though it fires normal shells, is much better armoured, and has different special abilities.

Description

The Claymore is the second biggest unit of ECA’s arsenal. It has a nearly legendary firing range. Possesses superb accuracy and can operate in any terrain and weather that is native to Europe. Very few have the luxury of surviving the punishment of its shells. It is rumored they are capable of firing in a quick succession as a few Claymores are capable of creating a majestic barrage.
